OMG! I wish I had a scrap yard like that around me. Then again, I'd be collecting more stuff than I could use. Go back and grab me the largest kettle pictured and send it to me  .
I don't think there were any more kettles in there; maybe some industrial cast iron scrap is what you're seeing. There are a couple of teapots if that interests you. :drinkingcoffee:

The round bottom cauldron type. Years ago, some idiot in St Louis put a curb alert on CL for one of those large 20-30 gal cauldron and a 10 gallon one for Free. I'm looking for something in a 10 gal size (cheap). Well, I'm 40 miles away from this guy and by the time I got there, it would have been gone.

Looks great! Love your dishes you post. Well, I just had my weekly fried fresh fish, okra, tomato, onion and libation done in cast iron. Now time for a little rye.

I meant what town or part of the Rockies?

The first time my Dad, Mom and I took a road trip out west, we ran into the Big Horn Mts like in your picture. Being flatlanders, we were totally amazed at them. Then we got to Glacier and WOW!
Sounds like y'all ran I-90. Probably hit Buffalo to see the Bighorns. Lived in Buffalo for several years in the late '70s, beautiful country, miss it a lot.

What do you guys think? It idles high like it’s Lean when sitting upright, turn it to either side and it goes back to normal. Isn’t this typical of a crank seal(s).

I do need to pull the tank pick up to make sure it does not have a hole in it or is broken off but that should not matter cause it’s full of gas, and it would die when recoil was facing up since it goes in the tank that side.

It ran fine 2 months ago when I cut a stump off with it. Had to do a YouTube link because it wouldn’t let me upload the video directly

I was unable to attend as I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Any idea how it went?
The proposed zoning changes are at https://www.ci.carmel.ny.us/system/files/uploads/townofcarmel.zoningdraft.pdf I pulled out the gun club related section... attached.
My take on it is that the requirements for new clubs are designed to make it impossible to satisfy Carmel... effectively banning new clubs in Carmel. For example:

"In addition to the authority vested in the Planning Board to impose reasonable conditions and safeguards on special use permits, the Planning Board shall impose such conditions and safeguards on the operation of the rod and gun club which, in its discretion, may be necessary to mitigate such problems as noise, public safety and diminution of property values."

This without specifying how any of that is to be measured and what triggers the action.

Kingston did that with new regulations on indoor shooting ranges... Which to me was done illegally because it was done while a new range was in the approval process! It was a targeted action (no pun intended) that affected only one business. The objections by the politicians boiled down to bigotry... The principals took it into a nearby town that welcomed them with open arms (again, no pun intended---or maybe so 😉).

Maybe the Supreme Court will make a positive decision for ranges with the case from MI.
Seems that these folks going after the ranges are more trigger happy than a group of 2A nuts :buttkick:.

Do you even cut wood anymore, or just cook in cast. If i was eating all the good looking grub you cook up, the only thing I'd be splitting is my pants .

You guys are getting free fire wood? How the heck do you pull that off?
Just knowing people or Facebook. I got some real nice birch and elm off fb. And about 12+cords of oak from a guy at work, I have to go back and get the 36" stuff Sunday probably noodle it into better sizes to load. Remington 754 and 990 featuredScreenshot_20240912-182256.pngIMG_20240912_163406698_HDR.jpgScreenshot_20240912-182911.pngScreenshot_20240912-204959.png

Yup . She’s getting a little tired though may have to get it rebuilt at some point
I was surprised it wasn't the 7900.
Miss mine, after saying that I'm probably going to have to look at pictures of it now 😆.
Those big rounds take a good bit of time, but they sure produce a lot of splits.

Morning men. Yes it is amazing how much split firewood comes from big rounds. Did some noodling with my homey 925 the other day. It handles it quite well.

I've got a ported 460 done by Doc Al that runs very strong (046-D cylinder w/bridge ports). Does not get as much use as it should since he subsequently did a Hybrid for me that runs just as strong and is lighter (also has a 046-D jug).

Although they say the regular 460 just run just as strong after porting, I've always had good luck with the 046-D jugs and used to seek and hord them. I have 3 running saws with them (the 460 and 2 Hybrids), and I think I have another unused one in storage. Plus, I built a 460 I gave to a grandnephew with one.

From the factory, the 046 Magnums (the originals with dual port mufflers) were the strongest 046/460s produced.

Ironically, all 044/440s also have D jugs! Many stock 440s ran just as strong as the heavier 460s. Both generally woke up very well with base gasket delete, muffler mods, timing advance, and low restriction air filters. My modified (but unported) 10mm 044 has embarrassed a lot of larger saws at GTGs.

I heard the club members were pleased with the outcome, as there was agreement to exclude the existing clubs from the new regulations (which was their concern).

I've been a member of PCFGA since about 1980 and use to be a Board Member.

However, I also spoke to my brother (a Lawyer) about it, and he said it may be an example of "Exclusionary Zoning", which is illegal!
