Just to be greedy....

I had planned on a 11Hp engine, is this overkill for the 16GPM pump or would a 9HP engine make better sense? I like the idea of having power, but sometimes enough is enough.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah dolmen a 11hp on a 16gpm pump is overkill. The only thing you will increase is your fuel consumption. I have a 16 gpm pump on my splitter with a 8hp briggs I/C and it works fine. I can run 2 hours on one tank of fuel ( 1 gal. tank). Good luck Ray.:givebeer: :givebeer: :givebeer:

Closer Yet

i've never seen a splitter stop 4 inches from the wedge. mine stops within 1/4 inch of the wedge.

Mine stops when it hits the wedge! I dont like it my son likes to send the pusher to the wedge all the time, IT IS NOT GOOD! Gets even worse when i put the slip on four way on it. I think if i was building a new splitter with the intensions of putting a slip on four way on it i would build the fourway extend the cylinder to within a 1/2'' and call it good this would give you about 2.5'' with the fourway off.... Just a thought.
Off subject i was cutting last night when i bent the tip of my rollomaticES bar at the rivet area, has anyone ever done this and just straightened it out with a hammer and re run it??
