Not bashing SeaFoam, just your use of it in a $900 chainsaw.
You tell me its oil it wont wash anything.
I prove to you that it is also Naptha and Isopropanol.
You get pizzy cause you don't like being proven wrong and tell me to climb a tree.
Okay
I found the tree
Come and get me when you've ran out of ideas.
But to be honest, the view up here is fabulous and I might not wanna climb down ;)
Of course you could use your saw and cut the tree down......if you could start it

Cheers
Jeremy

Heck, I'd rather shoot you out with my slingshot than to waste pellets on him...I have one of those fancy air rifles too (custom spring, seals, and trigger), 'cept I shoot .22 so things I shoot stay dead.
Ahhhh, I use my 35 Whelen. trees are just colateral damage.

Dude ! I have that one also .22 with the fancy smancy muffler on it , and I have to admit I have NOT been impressed. I can sight that joker in , and the next 3 rounds will be 2 inches apart at 100 feet out. I almost took it back , but figured I could just use it for anything within 30 yards I reckon....

Have you tried pellets of different grains?

OK so , since the coils are electronically timed , and the curve is built into the coil , Im going out on a limb and assume the coil is sticking in advance for some odd reason , and replace it.

Ok im getting back off the limb before one of you clowns fires up a saw ....

tried crossmans hollow point , flat nosed destroyer , pointed , and rounded , and another brand I cant think of which were flat nosed. Flat nosed were all over the dam place , and i could hear the pellet sailing through the air. Im still testing tho before I give up .... but both my good ol .177 are pretty accurate even at 40 yards within 1/2 inch

Every few pulls this thing will snatch the rope out of my hand , just like a lawnmower would do when the keyway is sheared.

Sometimes it will start right up and run great. The next time I go to crank , it might snatch the cord , sometimes even breaking the pawl.

I've pulled flywheel , key is fine

Exhaust clean

Good compression

Called Stihl support , they said "oh yea we seen this , its carbon on piston , seafoam will cure it " I saturated it many times with seafoam by spraying into carb while running , smoke pouring out , and also sprayed into gas mixture in tank . Also let seafoam set on piston overnight.

Actually I have 2 saws doing this .... also a MS 390 , and its broken the starter pawl many times. One day I borrowed a coil from a 029 and it did the same thing. I cannot figure it out .
What temperature is it there?

The 460 coil has no advance/retard curve. The 461 does. 461 also has rev-limiting where 460 does not. Adirondack would have told you, but he's up a tree right now.
