090

Holy cow! I could not believe I found my original thread. So now I must ask myself, WHAT WAS I THINKING!:jawdrop:
As far as the vent tubes, I believe they are one for each tank, I would not connect them. They must vent to the atmosphere.
I admit I don't see too many 090s around here.

mystery hose

Okay, I got a couple fantastic pictures for you. Lot's of drama and action. You can't really see squat unfortunatly. And I mistakenly thought that the IPL called it "tube". It was a more descriptive "hose". So in the picture, it's way at the back. You can sort of see the black rubber hose I put on it. In the picture of the IPL, the end of the nail points at it. Looks like a stretched bow tie in that picture. Let er rip... Thanks!

The hose connecting to the carb bottom is the fuel hose... The "bow tie" I believe is just insulation - you see them on the TS350 also.. I need to look at a saw at work..

That would be great if you could look at one. Remember, that the only reason there's a hose on there now is because I put one there (and the IPL looks like it says a "hose" should be there). Previously, it was just the two nipples. Thanks again for the followup!

O29 super and 028 super woodboss

Am i to understand that the 029 is not that great of quality? What about the 028 same?

There's many threads on 029 and 028 on AS...

They are both fine saws. One is 15 years older, and a 25 year old design (the 028). The other (029) is more powerful, but made to be less expensive to manufacture (one piece nylon tank/engine mounts assembly) and is harder to repair when performing major overhauls. Some on AS call the 029 a "boat anchor", but it's one of the best selling mid-size saws and the typical homeowner loves them. On the other hand, the pro's hate them. The 029S is almost what is now sold as an MS310 and it's a decent saw typcialy sold with a 20 inch and 3/8 bar.

I really like the 028 Super - the last version made - it's similar in construction to the next generation of saws - the 026 / 036 etc. The early 028WB are o,k, but lack power, have no chain brake, and have aluminium tanks that have a number of problematic fracture points if abused.

029,028

Thanks Lakeside for the info. The saws i have are the 029 super ( 46mm ) and the 028 super WB ( also 46mm piston ) Just wondering how they stack-up.

Both supers ... good saws... The 029S will outcut the 028S, but that's not the only measure of a saw (not that you'd know that from this site!)

Me and my ms290 - 18" bar 3/8" chain, works for me.:D
I would like a bigger saw to run a long bar so I can cut up those stumps in much less time!
