Too many of these types out there. My employer housed an old family friend for months in their guest house behind his shop. She took everything she could and never gave back. Took half a year and then some to finally get her gone.Use them but also take care of them. I have plenty of others for the rough work but even those get cleaned and oiled after each use. I lose a few but have never broke or worn one out. Had a prized one stolen by a druggie that lived with us a while, he was a persistent thief all his life, passed on 5 years ago, didn`t bother me at all.
On the topic of axes, I have built some dandies myself.. almost too nice to use, but then again, they are intended to be used. Little marring on the handles, but I find I appreciate them even more when I can see they've been put to good use
