Looking for a decent looking square-top 029/ms-290 rear handle. Anyone have an extra?

Found a decent one... (pic makes it look nicer than it is)
The only issue is the crack in the pic. The half wrap covers it and the crack don't hurt strength of the handle.
If'n your wanting it, PM me your addy and I'll pop it in the mail tomorrow.

Time to face facts:
1 I live in kansas, few big trees.

2 I don't want to cut the big trees that are here. (cottonwood)

3 I'm getting older and the 288 isn't getting any lighter.

Anyway, looking to trade my 288 lite for a newer 50cc ish saw. 288 needs fuel line and probably a carb service by now. (been sitting about a year) P/c is in good shape, Powerhead only. I prefer the pro series saws.

Update. Sorry everyone who pm'd me, been working on my furnace all afternoon. I am currently in negotiations with the first fella that pm'd me, I'll let you guys know if that doesn't pan out.

I'm pretty sure that any Walbro off of a 10-series will work. The choke and throttle linkages are all the same. It's just a matter of (for convenience) lining up the needles to the seal on the side of the air box (if the saw has one, not all do). And it's nice to have a fully adjustable carb, not all are.

There are two issues that can come up.

1)Some saws have short needles and no pass-thru hole/grommet in the carb box. Putting a long-needle carb on those saws will require a swap to short needles.

2)Some of these saws have external idle speed screws that thread through the carb box. Others have the idle speed screw on/in the carb. A carb with the integral idle speed screw can be used on a saw with an external speed screw. Using a carb from an external idle speed screw saw on one that originally had a carb with an integral idle speed screw will net you a saw without any way to set the idle speed...

PM sent. The broken saw has plenty of miles on her, so that handle will be perfect. I have seen one other handle crack right there, and cannot figure out why. As you state, the wrap handle supports it so no real stress at that point :dunno:

I've got a 10pk of .325" 9 tooth standard 7 spline rims (oregon). NOS, with some surface rusting, nothing major, just due to being stored in a shed without heat. brand new never used, just don't think I will have a use for them. Looking to trade for other saw parts (husqvarna), or open to offers if someone wants them. I'm in Eastern Canada

I can use those and I'm right across the puddle. PM sent.

this one has the long hi and lo needles that go through a grommet in the carb box wall. it also has the external idle speee screw.

I know there are a million of these 031's out there so here is my very short parts list... Shouldn't be hard for someone to help with...

1.) Handle molding 1115 791 0601
2.) Trigger interlock 1115 182 0801 Trigger lock that sticks out of the black handle molding
3.) Top annular buffer 1113 790 9901 Connects the crank case to the top cover near the hand guard
4.) Thrust washer 1113 162 8903 goes behind the oil gear on the crank
5.) Sprocket Bearing 9512 933 3000 12x15x13
6.) Bar oil cap

Nice to have but don't need...
7.) Chain catch 1114 656 7700 (if in good shape would be nice)
8.) Starting throttle lock pieces
