I'd remove the mufflers and inspect the pistons for damage as a starting point if you haven't already done so.

BTW, welcome aboard. Noob rep shot headed your way.

That's Great, I appreciate your help.
It will be a good start for acquiring a saw bigger then my poulan with an 16" bar.

I acquired 2 saws from my wifes grandpa, a Dolmar and an Mcculloch. I think the Dolmar is a 116; I can't find the numbers or any labels. The Mcculloch is a pro-mac 610. Both have bad coils. I can find the coil for the 610 but not the Dolmar. The part #2204222 for the dolmar coil if anyone can help.

I mainly want to know if the Mcculloch is worth fixing, same with the Dolmar, or if anyone has a coil that would work for the dolmar.

Both saws have a 20" bar.

I was given a McCulloch PM 610 that didn't have spark. I cleaned the corrosion off of the magnets on the flywheel and coil. I also cleaned and tightened the connections at the coil and where the coil is screwed to the power head. It has a nice blue spark now and runs good. My saw had sat for a long time because the previous owner was told that it wasn't worth fixing. Another thing to check on the Mac is the coil and ignition wire. They are long and there places where they can chafe and short out.

Both saws are worth fixing especially the Dolmar.

I have an SP125C with a brand new 36" roller-tip bar. The saw is a runner. Some new paint and it would be worthy of display on your desk.

I have boxes of Shindaiwa parts for 550,575,680,695 saws - enough stuff to build a few running saws.

Anyhow, I am downsizing the fleet and looking to get cash to spend on other projects, or some other saws. Would like a 7900 Dolmar, 390 Husky, or 066/660 or 088/880 Stihl. PM me with what you have.

Bump. Still have the Mac. Lots of interest but no takers.

Its not free when I have pay to get rid of it ! :D

The last one is stihl in its box,not sure where its going just yet? No one P-ed me off lately. :D

There you go, I'm not going to pay to get rid of it either, I was only giving stuff away to hopefully someone who wants that stuff. If I have to take my time to box it up, ship it etc and only get reimbursed for shipping, I could also just put them in the trash that I'm already paying for to get picked up.

Any room for them on the trip to Iowa?

hey guys,
neighbor came up with another "total" brand sprocket. Not sure what it's for but I bet it's for Jred or Husky. Total part number is "N304 11" on the box. Please let me know what this sprocket is for and if it's for Jred or Husky I won't need it and it will be up for trade! Just to describe it has a pressed in needle bearing and what looks to be a drive on the snout for a oil pump. Don't know if that helps or not...:msp_confused:

CHeers!

How come the Dolmar? Will the Dolmar be a better saw then the Mcculloch?
How long will the saws last me if I fix them, is there any estimation?

I am a budget cutter and don't have much money; so I really appreciate the information to attempt to fix my saws without much money.

Thank You.

The Dolmar's a good saw too, and nicer to run in my opinion, but you can make the McCulloch last forever, even if you're on a budget. There are 20x as many parts floating around for the McCulloch than there are for the Dolmar.

Anybody have an 025 crank?? Can use the bearings also.
I'm needing another small flippy cap for the oil tank also.
Got plenty to trade.
