Did you try cleaning and regapping the points? That's been the problem every time with those setups, I've never seen a bad coil.

I think that's the electronic coil he's looking for, which are known to drop dead.

If it IS a point saw, you're right, I can't imagine the coil is bad.

Anybody have a good sparking prestolite coil for a homelite superxl automatic?? Trying to get the saw running to figure out what kind of condition it is in, and of course, no spark! Sure had to drop the $$ on a new one just yet. Have some folded green things to trade if that helps! Thanks!

I was hoping that was the problem until I got the flywheel off to see it had no points and was the electronic ignition type without points. Kind of new at this chainsaw game :bang:Thanks though!

I would guess the stuff, in number 47. But mine the chain brake is internal to the case, not out on the cover. Thanks guys.

Dang it!!! I have always wanted a cookie cutter in the shape of a piston. I wish you had some of those.
I have a Sachs Dolmar 100 S flywheel, crank, connecting rod, recoil assembly and case halves attached to this squarish blue thingy with some wires coming off of it. Shoot me a PM with an address if you still need the blue thingy.

Thanks to DD who is sending me a coil. A unique 52mm (slightly scored) ash tray is on its way. NB. I find I can get more ash in them when the piston pin is retained - it doesnt fall out the holes. And them windowed ones is useless.

MS250 Rear handle, top handle, carb boot

I have to give a big thanks to lumberjackchef for the last round of MS250 parts he sent to me. They were in great shape and at an honest price.

I fixed a saw I bought smashed and she looked like new, but unfortunately she's got a tree butt magnet on it. I was pulling a blowdown off a stump with the truck, and the saw was over 20' away.... there was a tree on both sides of the stump in the direction of the pull, but the tree rolled out hit the ice missed the bumper trees on both sides and smashed my newly rebuilt ms250 into another tree.

I now need another rear handle, top handle, and carb boot. The fins are pretty smashed up, but I think I can salvage the crank case, bar/chain, and the compression is still good. Anyways anyone that has the parts please PM me. Much appreciated!

I have 2 model 2300 Poulan saws. One has compression and one does not. I also have a craftsman 1836 (I think), but the sticker list it at 42 cc. The are PHO. The Craftsman looks good and has good compression, but the crank is broke at the clutch and there is no clutch cover. I will let them go for shipping. If anyone is interested PM me and I will send more details on the condition. Tom
