I've gotta go out to feed the dogs in a minute, will go to the shop while I'm outside and look at the XL12 parts I have.

I have an XL(not SXL) with a coil on it, if that will work. I'm not sure if the coil is even good since the engine is siezed, so if it will work, it's yours. Will be the weekend before I have time to pull it and get it mailed though.

If it's an XL-12, it's got the stator setup, which probably is good and most likely needs the points cleaned up if that. Those coils are super reliable, as opposed to the POS electronics in the late SXL's.

Does anyone with more experience than myself off-hand know if the cranks on the electronic and points models are tapered and keyed up identically (if not the same) so that a flywheel + coil swap would work? IIRC, all of the bolt holes are there between the two models, as the electronic coil is mounted on a bracket that should swap out for the old-style stator plate.

Well, if someone else comes up with only the primary, I got you covered for the trigger. All of mine are coming off of 238's and the like, hence me not having the complete ignition.

Thanks Bryan. Maybe some one will have it. Has any one tried the aftermarket ones?

I'm working on a Homelite Super XL Automatic, for the pastor of my wife's home town. It needs a coil and filter cover. Anyone have one they would part with? Please PM me with a price. Thanks!

Those blue coils are the same on some Pioneer saws and some of the bigger homies too. They are notorious for going bad from condensation and age, and go for a premium on ebay ($65). Someone on here has suggested baking them in the oven to dry them out and sometimes they come back to life. Free solution if it works...

The Pioneer Farmsaw ...

It may be worth investigating.

A Lombard AP-42 type with solid state ignition uses a black coil. And, given there is little difference in Remington, Lombard and Homelite points systems, the same may hold true for the pointless ones.

The points box is 'clocked' differently around the crankshaft but, points and coils are the same.

Hey guys I'm needing a old style mac 10-10 cover. The oldest style with no chain brake and the letter M molded into the side of it. Also looking for a bucking spike that goes on it. PM if you can help me out with either. Have a little to trade and a little PP also.
