Yes it is a one that plugs into 120
Them Indians don't need no stinkin' electric starts.
Best startin' cold weather engine out there!
I disagree. Tecumseh engines, at least every one I have experience with, have been the most contrary and difficult to start. Briggs on the other hand, start like they ought to.
Well sir,
I am sure you living in Texas know all about cold weather.
I spent a few years up in the Northwoods of this fair country, Tecumsehs rule for stuff used in the winter.
'Mo, on most topics I agree with you pretty much 100% .... but not this one.
The one Tecumseh engine I have is the most onerous machine I've ever owned. Briggs are only marginally better IMHO. My best starters, hands down without question, are the Hondas.
I know this is a bit of topic but I'm looking for an electric starter setup for a Toro 7/24 with a 7hp Tecumseh motor for my dad's snowblower. If you have one, I have saw parts to trade for it.
If it's an XL-12, it's got the stator setup, which probably is good and most likely needs the points cleaned up if that. Those coils are super reliable, as opposed to the POS electronics in the late SXL's.
Does anyone with more experience than myself off-hand know if the cranks on the electronic and points models are tapered and keyed up identically (if not the same) so that a flywheel + coil swap would work? IIRC, all of the bolt holes are there between the two models, as the electronic coil is mounted on a bracket that should swap out for the old-style stator plate.
Hey guys I'm needing a old style mac 10-10 cover. The oldest style with no chain brake and the letter M molded into the side of it. Also looking for a bucking spike that goes on it. PM if you can help me out with either. Have a little to trade and a little PP also.
I am looking for husqvarna 445 piston and rings. Also a 3120 front AV spring, muffler, bracket and bolts, and a 42" or longer bar for that saw. I have some smaller husky saw parts to trade such as parts from 50,51,55, 350, 240, 44,141, 136. Also some 480cd parts and some stuff off 61, 162, 266 series saws. And paypal?
oh, also have some 338xpt parts to trade
Bryan I don't know whether the cranks are tapered and keyed the same between the points and electronic ignition saws. I do know that the electronic ignition saw cranks don't have the points cam machined into them though.
Looking for a fuel tank for a 61 husky. Got one?
Do you have any numbers? I have a few starters laying around but I can't remember what I took them off of.
