Hey tom. I'm not sure it's what you want, but stihl is back in the 1/4" chain business... They use it on the new little guy and a pole saw.

Yeah, I checked on that at the dealers today. It is .43 gauge. I am not sure how that would work in a worn .50 gauge bar. An AS member sent me some today and I bought an 020 parts saw with a new chain so I am good to go for now. Thanks Tom

You can still get the 440 tank with the flippy cap- just not the screw-cap tanks anymore.

Not according to the dealer I had talked to yesterday. I had him look them both up and he told me they were both listed as NLA now.

I just checked with my dealer this morning and they can still order a brand new 440 tank according to E-sales. Here's a new one on ebay:

they are pretty low quality but I replaced all the epa spouts on mine with those and drilled a hole to add the vent.
