I just got a Jonsereds M36 (thanks bigbadbob!) that I want to restore. I still haven't looked at it to see what it needs to run.

A Poulan 361 is in the mail also (thanks barneyrb!) and is reputed to have been straight-gassed. I like the looks of it and will likely restore that one as well.

A two-man saw is always a treat and I am waiting for word on one of those. A guy a few hours south of me has to dig it out of his old grainery first. Hopefully that one pans out as I would love to have one of these that has been restored.

The Jonsereds 90 needs new rings.

The Jonsereds 80 needs a bunch of parts.

The second Jonsereds 520SP was supposed to be a parts saw, but I've been thinking that it would make a good project for me since it came in a box.

The second 621 has stripped muffler mount bolts, but otherwise is a good runner. I will get some inserts for it and make it whole again. This is a minor one.

The second 630 needs a chainbrake handle and a gas cap. Another minor fix.

The Poulan Pro 405 needs at least rings. I haven't even looked at this one except to check the compression (75lbs), but the color and age are wrong so it frequently gets bumped to the bottom of the list.

I recently received a Partner R16 with no bar and chain. I will likely clean it up and get it running as well. It has good compression so it will likely only need a carb rebuild.

That should be about it. The rest of the saws are runners.

Wow! That is a long list. You'll probably never get to that J-red 90. I could help ya out.....:monkey:

Thanks for the offer! It's tempting, but if I send you that saw then I wouldn't have anything to put that NOS piston in. :D I'm actually trying to find just rings (separate) so that I don't have to split the rings and piston.

PS .... I'll start threads when I get far enough into the restorations. With the skill level that is on AS I am hoping for some good suggestions for improvements.

Anybody have a spare MS 290 or 029 Super cylinder around? Scored is fine, just no grooves. I have another grooved one here. Also need an 029/early 290 airbox lid. Flat-top style. Faded is OK, as the rest of it is faded.

I have one. I will check to see if it is scored or grooved.

EDITED TO ADD: The cylinder looks like it might be usable. There are 3 instances of scoring above the exhaust port. I cannot fit my fingers in the cylinder well enough to see if they will catch a nail, but I can say that I cannot feel them with the skin of my finger.

Let me know.

I got some pre-stripped bolts and a box of scored 290 pistons. Sound fair?

Oh, I see, it is POLISHED. OK, I'll throw in some cracked fuel lines, and a used exhaust gasket....

Last I checked, he was buying them back!
