Randy- I don't think the 272 ever came with the metal brake handle. The early 61, 266, and 162 were the ones in that size class with the metal brake handle.

I have quite a bit of 266 stuff, what all are you needing?

I think the 450 is the same, it bolts on the back with 2 bolts. Whatcha need that I can help with?

I need a chain brake handle for a Husky 61-272. The metal type is the one I seek. I'm gathering parts for a 266SE build, so any parts in the series of saws would be welcome. I've got parts and services to trade. :msp_thumbup:

Top covers- those are hard to come by. Pistons can be had easily enough through Bailey's or Northwoods.

IF not... anyone know if these are magnesium or aluminum? just wondering if I could weld it with a tig...

it's pretty thin to try and MiG weld... spool gun or not.... even if it's NOT containing enough mag to light it on fire, easily

I've got a Husky 61 clutch cover/chainbrake with the metal chainbrake handle. It works and is almost compleate but the brake band is broken. I can post pics tomorrow if you like.
