He"ll probably get 900 for it the way stihls sell on eBay. Can't believe how much we get shafted buying stihl stuff here. Was looking to pick up a ms241 when I go America in few months for like $550, then I kept upgrading as there so cheap ended up at the 362 for around $700-800 lol I'll probably end up with an 880. Have any of you guys sent stuff from the US to Aus. Who should I use?

I have always used USPS
Riddle me this fellas; what happens if welding, even just intermittent fillets, down one side of a 3.6m aluminium beam when the opposite side is already glued and riveted and no or not enough pre-stressing/treating and/or inadequate sequencing of said welding?

It will bend, if it can.

point of impact mate (where it shoots) it will change the harmonics of the barrel, just like your hand or stock coming in contact with it. may make a difference, maybe not. best to check it before you go for a hunt. ;)
thanks you
i went and pocked some holls in paper at 50m and it still is shooting the same

Cool. Yeah sometimes it makes a difference, sometimes not. Looks alright. You've got me thinking about getting something like that now. Sick of lugging a spotlight, 12v battery and leads everywhere! [emoji2]

G'day Folks,
Skip Sail here, thought i'd introduce myself.
relatively new to serious chainsaw operation, but by necessity on a very steep learning curve!
We live on 370 acres of Box/stringybark /redgum country at Fryers Forest,Fryerstown in Central Victoria.
Owned in common with 11 other lot owners, and administrated by a body corporate set-up, the community has begun to expand its forestry activities.
we've gone from just cutting firewood for the lot owners to selling bush poles and pruning coppices to help manage the forest here.
For the past year I've been swinging an FS560 clearing saw(monster beast brushcutter that I've nicknamed "Jaws") and clearing scrub, but due to having only two other chainsaw operators, and a heck of a lot of wood to cut, i've thrown myself into the chainsaw pool.
I've had some good instruction from some qualified guys, most notably a local chainsaw guru, Karl Liffman, who gave me a great lesson on sharpening chains.
i'm mainly following the fellers, limbing and crosscutting grey and yellow box up to 18 inches, and i'm starting to get the hang of it.

Not really knowing anything about models etc,I went down to the local Stihl dealer, who probably rubbed his hands with glee at the sight of this clueless chump, and purchased an MS251
The dealer told me that it was a great forestry saw, i didnt need anything bigger, homeowner saws are as good as pro saws etc etc.
guess he had a few 251 's to clear.

anyway, after using my mates 038 for an hour,I realised the 251 was pretty gutless, and i needed to step up, so I've bought a MS 362(from a different dealer!)
Went with that one because it felt right in my hands compared to the 441 and the 461.
I've also managed to snag an 038 magnum and an 044 from another friend in Tassie, they were his Dad's, both seen a bit of work, but pretty cheap, i sold the 251 and it covered the cost of the two old saws.

Does this mean i'm becoming a chainsaw addict?

anyway, nice to have found this forum, its teaching me a lot,
there is so much info and help here,
Thanks!

PS, i ship guitars to and from the USA on a regular basis, and USPS is MUCH cheaper and simpler, no customs and quarantine holdups.
Fedex is ok, but UPS is absolutely terrible

Welcome to the thread skip. I'm only relatively new here myself but top bunch of blokes and some interesting and educational topics at times! [emoji2]

Welcome aboard Skip, we are a screwed up bunch of misfits here, topics vary here and like hunting rob said "educational" hahaha. Don't worry about CAD, it is easily fixed with acquiring more units:yes:

For anyone in the Gladstone Qld area the Mount Larcom show is on and there will be some top chainsaw racing action on there on the 20 & 21 of this month. The bar and grill are right next to the arena, one of the best venues we race at.

This stuff that's not available to dealers yet? :) yep got a tank in my 201 tcm. Should be good for a few years till I wear out the 200t a bit more. Btw the stuff in front is carbon fibre inpregnated brushcutter cord, again not released yet. Helps to have friends in vans full of Stihl gear :)

lol, Vince there has been talk of picking a cheap model of saw that is not husky or stihl and have a race with them, anything goes porting maybe, was just a chat over a few beers after a race one time.
