You haven't seen this stuff mate. Ask Benny what it's like. Nothing but termite dirt up the guts of every log - as in every log. Hopefully you don't start telling me to use square chisel like the American guys :)

Termite dirt....so they build mud tunnels up the inside of the gums is that what you mean? I haven't seen that this way or out Gippy way and termites are a real problem here on the peninsula but I guess they leave the trees alone and eat the houses instead.

Perhaps you could market a termite saw chain....the ants pants of cutty cutty

Yes a nice core of dirt right up the guts. Really abrasive stuff too, get all in your nose sprocket and wears your rails down quite a bit faster. Nasty.

Rudy nailed it with his photo :) In my case in this Sugar Gum the termite "dirt" is still quite damp so more like valve grinding paste. In a 3 foot log not uncommon to have a foot of that gear up the middle. My Termite Cutty Cutty would involve a few sticks of Gelignite.

I guess that's one good reason to use the longer stroke splitters doing 1m billets like they do in Europe.

Yes that would save on chain sharpening a bit, I would even resort to cleaning the split logs with a pressure washer before cutting them into firewood size.

But I like Matts idea of the gelignite, one big bang and you just pick up the kindling after.

Well here's a interesting one that fell in my lap. A 2 stroke jack hammer made by Wacker.

It's got spark which is a good start. And a very interesting arrangement with the piston and hammer[emoji15]. There is no fixed compression chamber. Just the piston for the hammer. Opposed pistons.
Anyway looking all ok on the strip down till we got to the carby. It's a walbro SDC so hopefully I can get a kit for it as she's all gone hard.

Torched in the tank and got the filter out to find something crystal like in the tank.

It looks like sugar! Even tastes like sugar. Must be sugar. A tablespoon of it in the tank.
Now to the bit I need advice.
It looks like the bakerlite block died and someone was crafty and made one out of Teflon. But it also has a valve and spring.

If it sits behind the block, it has a 1mm gap to breathe thru. Doesn't seem rite.

The valve is bigger than the hole in the spacer block. Was thinking maybe it shouldnt be so the valve can float up to the carby ?
Anyone seen something like this before?
If you want more pics just yell out.
