should put that up on the noticeboard at work.. i am sure the place will be rumble by the morning lol

good news on the Wacker. my stihl shop can get carby kit for it and the interesting inlet system is ok and above board. they were saying its like a reed valve setup. and should be not a problem. time will tell i guess.

For any of you paint sniffers be careful on the dy-mark paint. Think it's more the fluro colours used for line and tree marking. Has bad ***** in it that's cancer causing. Sorta on topic can't believe MDF is still so widely used.
I worked with mdf for a few years 3d machining patterns for foundry work. I didn't really realize how bad it was till I saw a show on TV about it. Makes me wish I'd worn a mask more often that's for sure!

My brother in law is a cabinet maker, he stopped using it few years back. It's a pain when you try build a house and request no MDF. I hate the crap but sometimes you got no viable option.

just had a bloke bring his husky 365 around said it starts fine and a bit doggy on getting going but then dies

when he starts to cut , so i'm thing he's toasted it but it has heaps of comp so i start it and yep i don't need

a tach to see it is lean as buggery o_O .

14000rpm :wtf: lean so i look up the specs supposed to be 12500 on the H and it was low on the L side as well

then he says his BIL says that's the way it should be as it's a 2 stroke :dumb2:and i just said well you tell me what's

better the way it was when you brought it here or as it is now after we ran it in some red box .

he says well i'm gunna lock the shed now :rock2: as i told him if he keeps it up it will be toast .

HMR board is used in place of MDF. Has been that way in commercial construction in Melbourne for well over 10 years...I haven't seen it used in that time if any cutting has to be done on site....it's not allowed.

You sure I've seen it a fair bit, they just have dedicated rooms to cut the shhhite. Mind you most weren't union sites but still large developments

Last time I saw a dedicated room was about 2000 or a year or two earlier.

I won't allow it on my sites unless it's prefab...

I'm certain it is not allowed on union sites and if you were to speak with work safe you would find that you will need total extraction such as in a cabinetry workshop which isn't practical on site when you can just use HMR in its place.

The cabinetry firm I use is from SA and they haven't used MDF in more than 10 years.....maybe it's used for skirting occasionally but I haven't seen it in commercial works. It's still used all the time in domestic unfortunately

last i heard on mdf was that it was allowed but no dust, so had to be cut with a guillotine. i hate the stuff with a passion.

i also got a good laugh a few years back, a local indian bloke had me and a mate build a unit and a big house for him. and typical he was trying to screw everyone on price. anyway he pissed someone off though the build of the unit( i dont know who but we have a rough idea) they waited until it was finished ready to be rented out and kicked a couple of roof tiles loose and cut the poly water pipes in the celing, then proceeded to cut the lock off the water main and let her rip. the owner didnt find it till late arvo the next day, the whole place was chest deep. and eveything was mdf. jambs, skirts, arcs, kitchen even the window reveals. the 19mm mdf swelled to about 50mm and blew out tiles etc was a total disater and i was very glad the insurance company didnt employ us to fix it

For sale is my ported 550xp in good condition, new bar and chain 16".
I brought this saw from the USA It was built by Justin moody, it goes quite a bit harder than a stock saw. I'm selling as I have to many saws and I need to thin out my collection. $850 image.jpg
I can post more pics on request or I can also send you a video if your serious. It has no hot start issues or bogging issues.
I have always ran it on stihl ultra HP oil at 40:1 ratio.
I can post it anywhere in AUS at buyers cost.
Thanks

Sorry to sound confused but who's Justin Moody? What is his business name if he has one?

He went under the name of Moody's modded saws. He still builds saws and if you look up fin460 he seems to buy and sell a lot off of him.

Ah no worries. Yeah that name rings a bell but don't know much about him. AS went from about 6 builders to 300 in about 6 months so I sort of lost track of a few :)

I never even tried to stay with them, I just take a little notice to the more known boys and ignore the rest, as you said Matt, way too many these days.
Sometimes it get a little amusing with the ''2's and fro's'' and the ''my port jobs much better than theirs'' but I guess its the modern way.
Much better to stay in the shadows and be a no body.
