Yeah it was basically new when I bought it, only had a few hours on it full oem original. the owner of a stihl dealer used it for him self to do a few jobs on his patch, and had it sitting in his workshop. Theres another 090av too, brand new still with the plastic wrap it got imported with, but not telling where that it is haha.
what ever happened to the super barn find you had of all the old goodies?

Imported from Brazil?

PNG still use them too.!
the stihl man there doesnt respond to my emails tho lol

hey chippy. does yr muffler look like this/

opened up they liven up well!!

Yeah, that's the one Vince...

The muffler and baffle are OK, just a bit rusty, but the 3 retaining bolts and nuts have had it. I could probably just mod the existing muffler by drilling a 3/8th hole on that square indent so it blows straight out and bypasses the baffle, under what I call the heat shield.....sound good?

why stop at 3/8 lol make it as big as the one i posted.. and have the heat shield exit as the governing factor. should be able to get those bolts from stihl for about 5 bucks each i reckon.
heres another one i did.. brazed in a bit of 5/8 copper and welded up the old exit point.

How's it go with that mod Vince? Notice much difference? Good job taking out the metal at the end of the baffle, very clean.

Just remember chippy, once you open up the muffler, you MUST retune the saw!
It will run leaner with higher rpm, due to not having as much back pressure.
Once retuned, it should have more power.... No doubt about it.;)

clean the air filter with brake cleaner and compressed air and she will go like a cut cat!! can i say that here? oh thats rite.. this is the aussie dribble thread ;)

Clearly you have not read the Stihl workshop manual Vince. Stihl state not to use compressed air...but to use soap and water...so I'm using Truck Wash to get my performance gains
