IIRC there is red mahogony in that area, at first when I saw the vid on my phone I would of said forest red gum, but that is cutting to easy and the chips are too heavy for frg, I beat you are losing the edge on your teeth quick with the silica content in that wood?

btw, love the 390, sounds great

I am pretty sure it is some type of red gum as all the trees around it are eucs. It just seems soft because the saws are fast

Yeah you are right, the chains didn't last long especially the chisel.

P.S Cant see me old mate missing out on this great viewing maybe the SAS and the Cops should buy a few to increase their accuracy

AA-12 Fully Automatic Shotgun!!! - YouTube

He's a crack up that bloke. Apparently he is actually a yank but talks like a Russian in his videos. I've got the whole swag of his vids. He even gave a 40mm Bofors a run in one video - where the hell he got his hands on one of those from I'll never know...

In the area of Hampton if you go west of the New England hiway you should be in spotted gum and narrow leaf iron bark, east of the highway you will find the black butts, grey gums with spotty in the mix, I have seen mahogony in the grey gum areas with that deep rich red colour in them. FRGwill be found on both sides but more on the west side from what I have observed in the area

Club chainsaw

Hi everybody,

Went to our 4wd club meeting tonight. They are buying a new chainsaw for their land as the bearings failed in the saw they were using. The old saw was a 346xp, but was straight gassed sometime in its past. Now it has gone the way of the dodo.

I have been putting some suggestions forward, mainly along the lines of another 346xp brand new, or if they are going to jump over the fence, an MS261.

If they wanted to step up a bit I would suggest a 562xp and get the autotune.

I believe they are going to buy an MS291 or an MS311. Seems like a poor choice to me. I guess it doesnt matter if they straight gas this one either.

I'm heading down there this weekend, may as well take the MS441 and show them how a real chainsaw runs.

Your thoughts?

Graham
