only smokey when ya first start them, just point in the direction that your working and fog away:smile2:

Do you really want to start another oil thread war?... use maple syrup at 10:1 for all I care :hmm3grin2orange:
:wink2:

Your 660 proves that stihl mix does the job well.

and also proves that 25:1 wont carbon the buggery out everthing

I have been away the last few days working in a plantation so I thought you fellas might me interested. I was helping out a bloke to estimate the yield on a property in NSW, which involved felling and weighing trees of different sizes. That was the fun job
Then we had to map and measure (diameter) approximately 1500 trees all around the property... that was slightly tiring but I'm glad we didn't run into an big boars :eek2:

The 201t has done some work, it's close to run in I think. Its a little pocket rocket thats for sure. I'm thinking of getting a rear handle 201 which would make a better limbing saw.

You are going to chop all that down with that little saw :) You'd win gold if chainsawing was an Olympic event.

Can you swim fast lol ?

Haha Graham, no we only cut about 20 trees of different sizes to find out how heavy they are. Then we had to cut them into manageable pieces and weight every bit. The tree harvester will process around 1200 trees an hour so that would be much faster than me with the baby stihl.

It's most likely going into wood chip then a furnace/boiler. We have already harvested a block but we need a bigger harvester with more power.

The trees in the pics are dunnii and I don't remember what the hybrids are.

The 201t goes like a 090... in really small wood haha

What's the diameter size of them? might know of a harvester that would be suitable for the job :msp_wink:

Up to around 10". This is a different type of harvester though, it cuts and chips trees all in one go. Kind of like a forage harvester in tall corn.

IC now, a biomass harvester. the machine I was using was great for thinning, just cut, spray and off to the next stem to be cut, might work if you had a chipper set up to drag the stems to?

Will

btw, looks allot like Dun's White Gum in the pics?

Yes thats it. They tried that with a stationary chipper but it was not cost effective as some of the areas on the property are marginal at best. So we are working on a biomass harvester that will reduce costs and make it viable to produce biomass in these types of plantations.

ok fellas we have another dribbler on his way make him wellcome and he likes huskys but i wont hold that against him lol his handle is STOIE cheers
