I have played with 8 or 10 different 090s, for the life of me, I don't understand the big deal. the things remind me of a waterpump, best left stationary, unattended.

I'm ringing ahead Neil, I don't want any cold start shenanigans ;)

It won't be a problem for you rick, its been said before on this thread, 1 quick pull and away she goes.
Maybe you could tip a little petrol down that big carby first, that might help.

Steam turbine

we had three Mitsubishi turbines at work with one spare when it got out of balance the repair was to remove the whole set of blades and suffer the reduced output.

we sent them to america a couple of times to have them put back on but it was never successful.
the turbines were out of production and the retooling cost Mitsubishi quoted in the early 90's was ten million.

Mining jobs
My boss was best man at a wedding. there was a guy who was a cousin of the groom.
I was with the boss in moranbah and this guy recognised the boss.
Th Boss did not recognise the guy at all.
This guy said he had been a "chef" he was from Adelaide said he was from a top restaurant in Adelaide and used to get paid $85K for cooking 60 meals a night
He now works in Moranbah for $65K serving 750 meals a day 8 days on 6 days off
He is not on the mine lease but in a mining camp for contractors about 30 klms from the mines.

We later heard he had a drug problem so he will never get onto any mine site

As a regular visitor you wake up at 4 am eat breakfast and make your lunch and then get changed into work clothes drive to mine
5:30am sign in pull a marble 1 in 20 chance of full drug and alcohol test.
Wait to be escorted to work site can be waiting an hour 7:am pre start briefing risk assessments etc. 8am starting work.
5:pm pack up and get escorted off site before 6 :pm or you will not get on site the next day for breach of hours as a visitor.

I am allowed on as a visitor for only three consecutive days and I am not allowed to use tools only my laptop and phone.
I am not allowed to supervise the workers so the electrical trades person has to get the site supervisor a boilermaker and asks him the question in front of me, the supervisor then asks me the engineer "what he said" and I answer the Supervisor.

The going rate for a fully signed off subcontractor to do work for you on a mine starts at $140 p/h.
The medicals, inductions, safe operating procedures, work site familiarisation, etc etc means about a month of training to get a qualified licensed trades person signed off and they are still not allowed to operate any machinery or drive a Ute unless they are escorted by someone with a mines driving licence.

To get a ute up to mine spec costs about $18-20K extra over purchase price or can be hired for $3K a month.

There is big money

but it costs a lot to get set up
It is not easy to get the job done
You can loose lots of money too

Liquidator damages of more than 10K a day are not uncommon

Comments like that you should be ducking for cover.
Bob did you know that if you say "Gullible" backwards it sounds like "seagull", you better duck

My spelling is what? All fine and dandy like some.

We wouldn't be trawling for a bite now would we whooses ...................

Talk about bull#### spelling. According to the Aussie Slang Dictionary Online: Being a coward or “wuss” is spelt as WUSS or plural WUSSES, not “whooses” as posted by yourself. F@ck your spelling is ####.

Anyway to prove my point: I wish I could bites like this when I go fishing.:hmm3grin2orange:
