Tricky use of camera angles there Neil. We all know that log is only 18" across.
Bet me to it Matt.
Short focal length lens, macro setting, and you can make any twig look big without a frame of reference.

Is that you Bob in that :angry2:pic, gee you were young and powerful if its you.
Na but its more than likely you waving your own flag again [/B]
I'm sorry big guy if, you don't like it and of coarse you never waive your own flag do you.
But these photos show a little of what we did which is stopped now days. (old growth logging was stopped by the government)
Here is a little of your flag waiveing,,,, I must apologise to you as you are an international race competitor with some success, this would put you above all us mere aussie race boys.
Oh boy even back in 2007 the results were the same, this is an interesting read. Had Mac muncher (Richard smith) ever seen you with a saw before you started this thread ?

My inlaw has one of those bench grinding disks, like the TIMBERLAND one and when I seen what he done, I wasn't happy,Peter i see blueing on the cutters closest to the camera the chain has been overheated during sharpening you need to resharpen going a little slower with the grinder or use a new file.
Maybe the chains all need doing correctly with a new sharp file some of the stihl chains start as a hard cutter to sharpen but once the filing has progressed a little the file wont have a tendancity to skate throu .
Keep a good constant pressure during the filing stroke

Ive only got the file so should I up the file to the next size and do you think I should take the chains to the shop and get sharpened properly
Regards Peter
So where the file is cutting on the cutter that's fine but when I go to the next tooth, where I think the file isn't toughing the tooth, it is touching but the cutter is that hard the file isn't working
Is this my understanding
By the way , thanks for helping
Regards Peter
I can see this is going to be a real thirsty job
But like you said, take my time and they will be fine
Ive got my last file from the stihl shop, any really good brand file you can recommend
Regards Peter
