Old growth Brush Box out of steep George country, I would of used a 3120 and 36 inch Oregon bar with CJX skip chain square filed.
That log if you notice has been butted off at the stump to remove the flair. That thing would of been 10 foot or bigger across at the stump. Note my X in the top, we had 2 cutters working on separate ridges.

I'l put up some toys needed to extract them.

Toys to do the job. 1st.. cat D8H they could scrap in steep country and bust any normal bloke pulling 1" and 1/8 rope.

Gologit,i wouldnt waste popcorn on Bob.He turns up here, tries to put crap on people and then realises nobody gives a toss....then goes away back down his hole to think of something better :dizzy:

Thanks Dave, but we get a discount on our popcorn.

Bob seems to be a bit better mannered since his trip to camp but, if you guys don't mind, I'll drop by from time to time.

Besides which I'm using you guys for Australian language lessons. :D My son goes to college in Brisbane, been there close to three years, and sometimes I need an interpreter to understand what he's talking about.

Well stop posting photos and start splitting :) At a Viticulture conference in Mildura on my phone which is crap for AS. Good enough to read a particular member's pathetic attempts to get in the limelight though.

I am not pathetic Matt :msp_sad:.........:D

Thats an interesting tree pusher? on the D8N Neil.

That is a log grab mate, so the dozer can pick up a log and carry it. Its ideal for loading log jinkers or more importantly picking up a big short or butt log to keep the nose down coming up steep slopes of 35 deg or greater.

I live about an hour from there, its a nice spot for college and such. What is he studying?

Well there you go, that would come in handy with logs of that size.

.

Veterinary medicine. He likes it down there and he's talking about staying. It's a good opportunity for him.

I used to take him to work with me when he was a sprout and he decided early on not to be a logger. :D

This pic shows the reality of working big wood, operators get used to big machines and think they are bullet proof, then they pay the price of complacency. In this case every man suffers as my mate found out the hard way. The high track 8 on its side, a 7H had to be floated in to right the big machine, my mate Deno helplessly looking on knowing everyone was pissed off with him, at least he wasn't hurt, except his pride.

Tricky use of camera angles there Neil. We all know that log is only 18" across.

Yea ok,,,, maybe just a little bit much for a 200T. When those 1 log loads are on the truck, that is when their size becomes very noticeable.

Yeah but then you'd use a small truck in your photo to make it look bigger. We all know you've never logged Neil, you just steal photos from other forums and claim them as your own :D
