Ok I need advice from you gurus on here after using ten cans of degreaser on my mates saw to clean it to a point I could see the screws, should I get a parts washer? I am always degreasing stuff and was wondering if they are worth it? And what do I run through it? My other concern is the smell and the fact I like to throw my ciggy butts everywhere ;)

I put mine throu the hot wash at work its like a big dish washer I just plate the intake and exhaust ports and chuck em in

Matt,,, does a chineese 070 still come with a pair taped to the box when delivered in australia.

edit,,, or did 3 units need to be purchased to get that deal.

No Neil as taping two Chinese 070's together will mean they are too big to fit in a 20 foot container.

of coarse,,,,, silly me, I should of realised that.

I used to see what 2 chi-neese 70's looked like, but not any more for some reason.

Go the blues

I use old fuel a brush and compressed air, the smaller parts go in the ultrasonic, a parts washer would be handy...If I had the room

750 evl

nice one for trying gmax, it does seem to be in the rocking equine excrement and fowl molar department. im a stubborn ol bugger tho, ill find one or modify one to fit. the one in it is ok for now anyway, ill give it some love and get it clean.

Parts washers are great if you have the room and so cheap, the cleaning product you end up using will cost almost the same. I use Castrol degreaser probably the best I've come across, it smells a little, but rather manly and its specs says it's non flammable (68*C flashpoint). Have a look a the Hefco range some with auto shut lid in the event of a flash fire. Get one that has a welded seam tub not just folded to minimise any leaks.

gmax, you could have at least said IF my coil dies!! bloody hell, paranoid now, should i start looking?! haha!

ta for the advise on the felt, ill investigate that, the body is in good shape. maybe thats the way to go....

to Lisnm8, get a parts washer, investigate options on cleaning fluid, theres heaps, kero and a rinse in summat else is good, smoke rollies, they light stuff up less and buy an ultrasonic cleaner, its next on my list of buys, they rock!!!

helped an arborist mate out today, is it ment to hurt this much?:(

Yes It's meant to hurt, especially when using a 100cc saw all day.... but It's good fun :)

If you see a 750 coil at a reasonable price grab it

gmax

well thats ok then, it was fun. bloomin sore tho, lotsa cider tonight n a very bloody hot fire to slump in front of!

if i see a coil ill defo get it, i love the echo coz it was free!!! and it runs pretty good n the jug n slug are good enough for now. MCW, can you get J/S for the 750? how specific to a saw is the coil, it should use the same as a few others at least, yes?

Worn filters can be repaired with some felt and a Hot Glue Gun

Be careful which hot glue you use as I've seen some of it remelt at around 55°C. I'd use epoxy instead.

They didn't arrive today. Hopefully tomorrow :(

Nah mate. The world hates Echos so nobody makes any spares for them :D

Without checking IPL P/N s I don't know, but old model Echo coils are getting hard to find especially for the larger saws.

Hey thanks for the link. I'd been sitting on the fence for ages on buying one of these but didn't realise they were so cheap.
Just ordered this one + a brush head...

Now I don't have to use 130psi of air and coat my shed with oil, woodchips, and other crap :)

Any luck with the USA mob Bushy.

Looks like I've got a felt air filter coming my way for about $32 inc. post for the 2095.

Matt was useless there too. I think he said "what's a f jonsered?, only seen them in Taswegia" in a pm to me.....

Jeepers matt, do you sleep? Haha!

No word as yet from the us.

Slightly more pressing matters at the mo, the 'zorst has snapped off at the turbo on the wifes ute. 45 min in to a 4hr drive to the airport.
We may be late.
And i really wanted to wear my $4 dinner jacket to the awards!!! Fek!

Hey matt, what time does mr postman swing by? Defo picked up this damn saw ailment! And i dont mean my echo, sod off! I like it coz the starter shroud looks all industrial n tough!!!
