Mmmm decisions....See l already have a Solo 681 which is a real runner (btw solo designed and engineered the 7900 & got dudded by dolmar). Schhhhhh don't tell anyone that who owns a dolmar cause they'll cry. My 681 is noticably quicker than my cousins 461 & a fair bit lighter. l dunno l want a play saw so l think l'll grab the 390. 88cc vs 76cc. lf l was putting it to work daily l'd probably get the 461. The 461 is listed at 6.9kg & the 390 7.1kg. What l really want is the slug&jug from the 390 put on the 461.lol.

The one good thing about the 390XP is the way it balances with longer bars. On paper the Husky is heavier but in the hands it actually feels lighter than my 7900's.
By the way, I'm not crying as the Solos are a good saw. I'd have one if the Dolmar HD filter kit would fit it. But it won't, so I haven't...

Thats reminds me, I have a 7900 in a box somewhere. I should see if it still goes.

Is it bad I have a 2014 catalogue on the bed side table... They are having trouble getting the containers approved so it may still be a wait till we get them. I have on one those wedges sitting in the shed if you mean the one in this bloke wedge holder, They have been replaced by three others now. I'm getting some aussie made ones so I'll see if Matt can break those...
Lol, I had to run out to the shed to grab mine benn*e. I like the idea of the tool holder on it, shows some thinking on their part. With the older alloy wedges the angle was spot on and the type of alloy they were using was tops. And Rudi, they didn't damage the chain when hit

I'm surprised about the no chain damage

Don't stress Rudy as they'll damage chains just fine. A few guys at one of the forestry courses I did hooked a few of the Stihl alloy wedges with RS full chisel. It wasn't a pretty sight. Not as bad as steel but still a fair bit of cutter damage that wasn't going to be easily filed out.

I'll try :) Hey you saw those other broken alloy wedges mate in my shed, they were a joke. If the Stihl ones weren't $40+ I'd have bought a heap of them. The alloys are good if they don't fall apart.
Yeh they where rat **** hey. I'll get some of these other ones, if they turn out ok they'll be a far cheap alternative

Are the pages stuck together? If so then it's bad. Very, very bad. You need to take a long, hard, look at yourself old son if that is the case.

On a side note do you get even more excited looking at Husky catalogues? Like some sort of freaky interracial type fetish?

I heard one of the 6 combi's was damaged in transit to the testing facility and hence they failed the test. Been waiting 6 months for them! So I went to bunnings and bought this.

The Combi Cans themselves aren't really the issue, it's those auto stop nozzles that need to be properly designed. I'm hoping Stihl can nail those nozzles as the previous non Stihl ones I bought were crap. If your fuel can fell over the nozzle would break. Great when they worked. Being Stihl they should be a bit tougher I'd think.
