I gotta make sure I can't get the whole log out first....If I can't...Then it's probably gonna be a day and a half of sawin' involved...With the 088 and 395..If that be the case,I'll see if I can line up three or four jobs like that, might as well make the most of it.

My wife tried to get a job as an air traffic controller right after she got out of the military....She put in the application for the job the same day she put her application in at the sheriff's office.Exactly one week after she started at the sheriff's office, they called her back and offered her the job...I guess it wasn't meant to be

That's where I am at now... I did a little climbin' for awhile, but... frig that. I'm stayin' on the ground.

If that is you in that Avatar pic...Then you're a decent sized guy....I ain't even seen a big fella that enjoys climbing much...I do it everyday...I'm 6'3 215,and I wouldn't do it if I could afford not too..It seems like all the guys I've had working for me that loved climbing were the 5'5 120 pound types..I have a guy right now that is one of the best climbers I've ever seen, and he fits the above description...I enjoy climbing certain types of trees, but if I had my way,I'd stay on the ground and cut em' from there.

I kinda fall into that little guy category. I like climbing, but Im almost 30, and I dont like the risks as much as I used to. Last tree I climbed to take down was the one in the pic at Christmas. It spooked me a little. ( Im no logger).

I climb most everyday, and it's taking a toll on my joints,so I'm constantly trying to find a climber that I can trust as much as I can myself..That's why I started taking on small patches of timber...So hopefully one day,I'll be clearing timber primarily and kepping my feet on the ground.

Yup... that's me 6'5 and around 240. The guy I use for climbin' is around 5'6" and weighs about a buck sixty. Climbs like a squirrel though.

Just point me towards the wood my friend... I'll be checkin' my mailbox for a plane ticket.

I can hear it now "...and you're cleared for the front course ILS, cleared to the outer marker, report outer marker, and if you screw it up just one more time we're gonna shoot your sorry azz down". Yup.

Good lord, you should hear Gary on the radio...."are you gonna land that damn thing, or do I have to come out there and do it for ya?!?! Chump!"

(Actually, I don't believe I've ever heard him over the radio...we don't actually fly into Whidby all that much. We do have to call them for clearance if we're gonna take off from our own runway in the goo.)

It may not be soon, buy ya' never know....During the summer,I've usually got enough sawin' going on to keep many a people busy....Lots of trees we take out and can't get a loader in to move the wood,so it has to all be cut small enough to be carried out.....Usually I do most of the sawing, none of my guys can seem to keep their saw sharp for more than one or two cuts when cutting up a big trunk like that, then they'll just run their saw dull....Pisses me off,so I just do it myself.:chainsaw:
