I've got some used points and points coils for Poulan 25s if anybody needs them. I have a solid state saw I would love to get running but it has a bad coil.

You can use a $15 Nova module on an electronic ign Super E-Z if you swap in a points saw coil and flywheel. The Poulan S25 isn't so simple. Points and solid state S25's have different coil mounting bosses on the cylinders.

Yeah, I hate to part with that saw(or its parts) but I'm just not spending $50 for a coil on a saw that cost me $7 shipped to my house. If the coil bosses on the cylinder matched up, I would have no problem with converting it to points.

you got a coil and flywheel?.....exactly.
But that is a good point. thanks for the suggestion.

I know its a just a little saw. And as it sits neither of mine are running.
All i was saying was id rather put less money in a points saw than paying 50 plus shipping for the module.

I thought you had a runner. $50 is a lot to stuff in one of those, though I have heard good things about them when they run.

As a matter of fact I do......but they are earmarked for a saw that I am converting. Bet you can get 'em from somebody with a parted out saw (or a box of E-Z parts under the bench). I did...

IIRC, there was a guy in the regular swap meet thread that mentioned having some S E-Z parts to sell/trade within the last day or two.

Another auto-oiler parts problem.

Working on a friend's Lombard that has been sucking bar oil into the crankcase. There seems to be a 90 deg. check valve at the pressure inlet to the oil tank missing its' guts. May be that I lost them when blowing carb. cleaner thru it.

At any rate, a snapshot of the valve parts or a replacement valve would help greatly.

Valve is very similar in operation to the one Remington used.

Lombard model AP-42 or there abouts on right end.

Also looking for serviceable piston and cylinder for the blue Homie SXL in the center.

Yes you would still have trouble as the electronic ign saw would not have the points cam cut into the crank to run the points.

True, but if he was able to install a points saw flywheel and coil (if the mounting bosses on the jug were the same between points and solid state S25's), then he could use a Nova module to trigger the coil. Then the missing points cam on the crank wouldn't be an issue. This is how I'm fixing a blue coil Super E-Z with a faulty module. The electronic ign Homelites don't have the points cam on the crankshaft either.

Putting points parts on an electronic ignition saw...to convert it to electronic ignition!

I love it!

Edit: There does not seem to be a "love" button, so I guess I only like it.

Yep I know that will work on the **** lites but not so sure its that easy on a S-25.

Those coils are not know for taking a dump on a regular basis and there should be pleanty of used ones around. Not the case with the blue coils on the red saws. If you did find a good used one anyone who knows wont let it go cheap and it could still crap out at any time.
