What saws did you have before ever coming to this site?

I'm the picture of restraint. Only the 3120 has come my way since I came on board. Of course I got the 066 a couple of months before coming on.

Hey Saw Troll You Mean Plus if you got another saw?

I had the same as I have now, minus the 372xpg that I got yesterday....

How is that 372XPG did ya get to play with it any?????

came here with one

Now I own three ,
Today while cutting firewood I was running my 6400, and I got to thinking I love to hear it run and watch the chips fly..

Why can;t I be like the race car owners???/ own the saw and watch someone else run it.. Only pay em if they win you know..LOL
My buddy went to buy a 5100S, at the new local dealer.. dealer could not find his price list to try to get my buddy a better price. Could not find his pricelist.. Get your act together..geesh. My buddy walked out sawless....dealer stood there clueless..
I have praised this 5100S and now the dealer could not guess a price under retail..
I want to feel that 5100S cut. see what it is made of.
Might just have to buy one

I had 4.

2 roper made Craftsman 3.7 saws, dont care what anyone says, these are very good saws.

1 craftsman/ poulan 2.2 wich I only got because it came with the next saw that actually brought me here.

A Homelite 4/20.

I got the 4/20 and the poulsman for $10 and picked up the second 3.7 two weeks before for$20

And now theres another 3.7 and many old gear drives and SXL's and 925;s and it just keeps snowballing.

Im freakin outta control.........:help:

My self control overwhelms me.
I bought One used saw on a trade in.
Guess I know what I need and use what I got.

Howdy All,

I had an echo 510 first, then bought another as a lurker in the shadows. Now I have a 520 and hopefully a stihl on the way. I have never bought a brand new chainsaw. I would really like one of those Dolmar 7900 or a 440 or 460 Stihl or a 372XP. One of these four will hopfully be my next one. That will put me at five if I get one of the four. After that my wife will probably make me sell some banjos to do penentance. I got the fever pretty good but luckily I'm poor and don't have to worry about it unless a find a good deal.

Before I came here, two homelites a 330 and an Xl. But I have probably had 20 saws other than those two. I do yard sales etc. and pickup a saws here and there. I fix them up and sell them to friends etc, for my cost. I just enjoy fixing small engines etc. I just did the top end on my (new to me and free) 024 and have a bid on a ms290. So I will sell the homolites and keep at least one Stihl. I also just aquired a box of five Echo gas drills in different states of disrepair and am going to get two complete ones from the bunch, will sell those too.

I had a bunch of running saws before coming and a bunch of parts that were in boxes, now the parts saws are slowly coming alive with some help from the experts here, and those are being joined by some new ones that I just had to have after hearing about them here, and now I really have a bunch, :biggrinbounce2: I am also experiencing separation anxiety.

Had a 394 xp when I came here, and bought an 034 after I'd been here a while. Weekend woodcutters buying more than two saws are not right in the head, imho.

026, 036, 046, 335xpt

have spent loads of $$ since then, but still have my 046, 026 and 335xpt.

First saw - Poulan-built Crapsman; don't know what model - 16" bar. Still have it, but only use it for trimming trees in the yard now and then, because my other saws are too big.

I joined the site with that and my 090 ($40) and a freebie 084 in pieces.

Now, I have a couple more..... And want quite a few more!!!

Remington PL-5
Remington SL-9 (2)
Craftsman 2.0/14"(Poulan 2000) (2)
Homelite Super 2

Too easy to distemper teeth with a grinder - all chains carefully filed by hand with a Granberg File N' Joint. But hey... if someone can show me an affordable "wet" grinding system like a machine shop would use or a steel cutting wheel system (picture a round file about an inch in length with the grooves running lengthwise), I am open to suggestions.

And I quote Sawinredneck from the "Is there a cure for chainsaw addiction..." post:
