What the heck is this???

I took the saw over to the shop yesterday to go
ahead and have the cord rotor and the muffler gasket replaced. I did run the saw after the mystery part came out and it ran fine. Then the rotor cracked.

The mechanic and I both looked all over the saw and didn't see anywhere that it could go. Because it ran fine after it came out and we can't find anywhere that it went, we came to the conclusion that it didn't belong to the saw.

If I get different news I'll make sure to post it.

I do not claim to be a husky expert but Id guess its a carb heat exchanger plug for between the cylinder and the airbox

I recall looking at that picture that is on p.35 somewhere. Thing is, that the pic looks like the plug can attach at both places. The large end either plugs the hole or gets stored in
the opening to the right...the smaller end looks like it is used to pivot on. The part that came out of the saw was totally flat other than the large plug end. I'm just going to let it go and keep a close eye on the saw's operation for any funny stuff.
