Why can't I get a Canadian maul handle?

Thanx. I used some cardboard from a cereal box to make a pattern then transferred it to some 18ga steel I had around. Bent it up, wrapped the handle, secured it with wire then welded the overlapped joint on the back. I'll need to paint it to keep the rust off.
I took a scotch bright pad to the varnish that was on it to break the gloss. I'll leave it for now.
Now if I only had some wood left to split...

Very nice! Unfortunately my small suburban yard is full of the wood I picked up this last year. Luckily it is a very cold December. In the spring I will be able to stack into a the empty spots. Even though I don’t have any space left I am still looking for free wood in my neighborhood. I need the exercise and I can always put more wood over the existing pile.

I found some lumber to make a wood rack at the back. With the trailer in front and the snow now covering it all it is not too apparent. I was raised in the country and for practical reasons I ended up buying a house in the suburbs.
