I run all of my tools and such like this. I won't lend anything out that I use to make money. I won't rent it out, unless the rental will off-set a good portion, or a portion I'm comfortable with, of the cost to replace said equipment. That said, I cut a 6-8" locust limb fallen over a wooden fence for an acquaintance of mine, for nearly free. That though, has booked me about $3,000 worth of work, from him alone. Plus QUALITY referrals because of how nice i was, blah, blah, blah. The guy originally asked to rent a saw from me.

The possible renter is a member here that Ive worked with, and the groundman who most likely will be running it is another member here, and I am more than confident that no damage to will occure to the unit. I just never liked lending or renting out any of my gear. I did a lil of that when I was 18-19yo, and every time something would come back effed up. Strike that. I used to loan my trailer to a guy who would lend me his bucket(for obvious reasons), only that @sshole would bring it back with a bent jack and say it was like that, or leave it next to the burn pile loaded 8 feet high with brush. The things a youngin will look past to get a free bucket........ sheeesh......anyway, back on topic, whatcha think? I know theres more than oneiya out dere's

Besides I think it will only be used for a pick or three until we are up high enough.

It is in good hands. If it comes down to it I will hang a block above it just to make sure. Or are you talking about the pig tail? If I feel slippage is going to be an issue I will cut in a seat for the old gal or set up my porty.

I contracted a guy from here to do storm damage for me a few years ago to help me keep up with my job load. He made enough the first week with me to buy a GRCS. He went to KS to get it, then came back to OK and put it to work on my jobs. It was a win win for both of us. We pulled together and I know we would still help each other anytime we could.

Personally, I will help someone that I like and know is a professional anytime I can. If they are not a professional or I don't like them then noway.

lol I had to google GRCS to figure out what you were talking about. Now I know what your talking about. If I had a GRCS I wouldn't rent it, I would just let them use, it its only a only a GRCS

I'm betting you just wanna play with the fancy toy. Sounds like something that could just be done with a good old fashioned tip/butt tie combo. Have fun though!

I wasn't all that impressed by that thing. It seemed pretty dangerous actually. At least with the porty, I know the rope ain't gonna spin off, or get crossed..

I will loan my stuff to people that have some stuff that they can repay me with , If you break it you better have something of equal value including trucks and chippers stump cutters whatever ... AS long as its gets fixed and I don't lose work or slow me down have at it ...

I haven't seen the job but the climber thinks we will need one so I am going off his opinion. I know it's a bur oak over a house through a deck and was slated to be a crane gig but ground conditions are too squishy or so I am told. The crane operator came out and marked where he needs to be which is directly over the septic field on a river front home. I think the plan is to speed line most of it but I am sure there are a few that need to be raised over the roof.

The GRCS is a sweet piece of gear to have available, that said, it isn't an essential piece of gear. I personally haven't bought one yet because my brother has one I can use anytime. I think I've borrowed it once in almost 2 years, although if it was in my tool box I would use it more, just for flash appeal/marketing.

I'm sure I'll get one sometime, just looking at a 226 Cat Skid with High Flow and over the tire rubber tracks right now. Gotta get a stump grinder going.
