ETC......etc....etc.....

I picked up a 036 in good condition and a 1-86 with 36" and 72" bars and many extra chains for under $100 each. The 036 needed cleaning up, a carb adjust, and the chain sharpened. The 1-86 had the starter rope hanging and needed a carb kit.

Does free also count?..:)..Mac 1-43/250/450, Sachs 117/133, Stihl 360/ 440X3/056, Jred 910 - Sam

I forgot about a $25 024. The saw needed cleaning up and a bar and chain. My wife and daughters came with me to look at the saw (read very strange) and welcomed the saw to the family with a $175 diner.

All mine have been under $80!! Even the 254, that cost me $30, only needed a "fuel change" and she was good to go!! Now she breathes even better than before!!

This is getting addicting!!:kilt:

I bought an 066 red light (complete) for $80, and found an 044 for $50. Both have great compression and the 044 came with a 24in bar in good shape and near-new chain. I haven't really looked at the 066 yet, and so far, the 044 seems to just need seals. Both are VERY dirty, but I'm counting my lucky stars on those 2 beauts.

Course, I've gotten a few marginal deals also.

The best deal I ever got, though, was buying out a small engine company's pile of junk. There was a lot of work there, but what with some elbow grease and EBAY, I built up 3 272s, 3 372s, a few other misc Huskies, a couple Dolmars, a few 029s and 025s, and I sold a lot of parts. Oh, I also have quite a few project saws on the shelves for a few years to come. Yes, A fair bit of coin, but the fun!!

The infusion of knowledge has been GREAT. I've gotten pretty good with the big Huskies and homeowner Stihls (I'm only just "coming along" on the pro Stihls), so I am able to participate in many of the technical discussions. For me, AS has been a lot more fun because of it.

never bought a saw for under 100$ but I got a medium sized moving boxfull of 070, 090 and 084 parts for 50$ once, i`ve sold some, used some and still have some parts left.
