Wife canned 5 pints of beets a week ago. Today I pulled the rest from the garden. They went a little woody on some but I think we will get another 3 pints after we go through them.

Cleaned the fishpond/fertilized the garden today. :)
So far, so good. 👍 I see flower buds on the squash and lots of flowers on the maters.
I put bT dunks in the pond, do you think that being in the water I run into the garden would help eliminate bugs in the garden?

OK, I first want to say my memory is not what it used to be. So, I apologize for asking you all again. I've had trouble in the past getting my pea/bean/squash seeds to germinate when planted directly in the grown. I'm getting my Pole Beans and Alderman Peas in late this year and I want to get it done the first time.

Anyone ever soak seeds before planting. These are untreated seeds. I think I soaked seeds overnight and the skins sluffed off. I'm planting later today so I'll soak them a maximum of 6 hours while I wait for anyone's help.
I pre soaked some corn and butternut squash 2 weeks ago overnight. I had no corn sprouting and only a few butternut from that planting. My 1st corn planting had some corn come up, that was directly seeded. Today I planted some corn right in the soil with no soaking. They claim it's a 68 day corn. I sprayed my potato plants today, leaves had small holes and I only saw on beetle. I am trying an organic potato beetle killer from concentrate. I'll get pics tomorrow when I stake up tomato plants. Beans are looking good as well.

Went on vacation for a week, neighbor came over and fed the chickens and turkeys. Stormed a few times so she didn’t have to water at all. Came home to tomato and tomatillo madness! Cherokee purples are monsters, super Sioux and black cherry have blown up but don’t have the same size tomatoes. Pepper patch is doing really good, black magic and Arriba jalapeño plants are putting lots of peppers on. Pasilla peppers have a few and the super hots only have one or two but the plants look great!

Man those are healthy looking pepper plants. What do you feed them?

My soaked ones didn't germinate either. I was supposed to replant today, but I got side track. Try tomorrow in between rain showers.

Ocoee!
First bloom and the vines are growing like crazy, with tons of flower buds. 👍
That will bring in the Gulf fritillaries. :happybanana:and other pollinators.
I don't think there'll be a problem with the Ocoee taking over the garden since once the butterfly eggs hatch, the caterpillars will start chowing down on the Ocoee leaves.

Squash is looking good

And my gourds and marigolds have sprouted. The first gourd planting didn't come up, I think I planted the seeds too deep.

Well here is my june progress report. Organic potato bug killer works just fine. Beans are all growing like mad, I have Irish Spring in empty vitamin bottles and the mice haven't destroyed them. Waiting on the new corn to pop up. Tomato's in planters are growing well.
