No,I haven't lost my mind,I know these two aren't even in the same class...When I bought my 441 yesterday I bought a 357 husky as well.I usually buy saws in 2's or 3's because it saves me a good bit of money...Anyway,I've got two dump truck loads of white oak logs out there as we speak that are dry,and I'm working them up for firewood.I thought I would post a run-down of what I made of the two saws..
441.....Nice torque, and the thing seems to use 1/3 less gas than the 440.It also seems to vibrate less, and run more quitely.I like it,but I've used all and seen all from saws in this category,so to me it's just another tool, and is heavier than the 440 to boot which means I really do like it,but could do without the weight..I may try a Ti guide bar,I guess that would make the difference.
357.....WOW!!!....I never thought I would be so impressed from a saw this small. It smokes my 280 and 260,and is light as a feather..It is slightly heavier than the 260,about the same as the 280.I really actually needed this saw because I was needing another saw to cut down big peices from up in the tree, which translates to 18 inch in diameter and up.No doubt that this will easily become my favorite saw for it's intended purpose...Right now I am using it to work up the rest of that firewood, and hopefully get it broken in good.
