I am still considering a 346xp/353 at this point. But most of the cutting I do is bucking deadwood that doesn't have a lot of limbs. I know the 359 will handle the bigger stuff from experience. I'd hate to spend $400+ on a saw that couln't handle the big stuff("14-18") in a pinch. I can get a 359 powerhead for $400(I already have a bar & chains).

For that stuff, I surely would take the 359 over the 346xp and 353, but the Dolmar PS5100S may be a better option......

I bought a 346, I am as of yet, impressed. I have ported it twice now, it's better, but not living up to the hype/my expectaions of yet. I needed a replacment for my blown up 262, it was not it.

I'd love to try a 346 but that's why I'm a little hesitant. You seem like a no-nonsense firewood cutter and I'm not sure I'm talented enough to keep that saw in it's powerband. I used an 026 and I wasn't impressed. I had to sell my lightly used 5100s before it was broken in. It seemed like a really well built saw but didn't have that Husky feel I like so much. If I decide to go small displacement, I might just take your advice and get a 350.

Honestly. stock, that 350 has done nothing but impress me, modded, well, hang on!!! The 346 was not a choice I should have made, but the price was right, That is my fault. It's not a bad saw, but as you have experianced with other saws, that class leaves much to be desired.

I like my 346xpg but I don't run bars over 15" on it for longer bars then that I got other saws, as far as the powerband goes it's not hard to hold it in it, I can see some people having trouble with the powerband but my guess is they are pushing it hard to make up for a dull chain ,,,,,

To take the shoes of a 262xp is, and should be, well beyond the capability of the 346xp.

Non-EPA 61.5cc vs. EPA 45cc should have told you that........:greenchainsaw:
