Yep thats right. The only issue I have ever had was the hpop slowly died out at 180k and needed replaced. I have nothing against wix and frankly thats all I use in the wifes volvo since her car uses the canister style insert, i'm just going off what the diesel pros have to say about wix filters in diesels. Honestly I think most of the issues were with the 6.0 psd's more so than the 7.3.

Yes. I've just never heard of those problems. Most people that I've seen that have problems with their oil systems is not the fault of the oil/filter, its the persons lack of maintenance, I think Wix makes allot of other's filters actually!

Yes the 6.0's were crap if you ask me, they had lots of troubles as compared to the 7.3, the 7.3 is killer if you ask me, plenty of power, and less problems. I've got my with a chip and big exhaust, and dam does that thing pull like crazy!!! I've past cars going up a mountain pass pulling my 4500lb travel trailer.

But then they switched from the swingline stapler to the bostitch, but I kept my swingline and I kept my staples from the swingline because they didn't bind up as much.

Did you know that Donaldson Synteq media was developed by Amsoil?
Same stuff as in their EaO series oil filters.

Bwahahahahaha hohohohohohohoho hahahahahaha :ices_rofl:

Sorry Vini, but my, they have you brainwashed.

Donaldson, Cummins/Fleetguard and Mann-Hummel have damn near all the patents on synthetic medias, including the nano fibre media used in the latest air filters.
Those three companies R&D budgets individually are greater than, say K&N's total sales

I'll let you into a little secret, Amsoil use the media under license to Donaldson, and Wix assemble the filters for them ;)

Donaldson ELF filters (and Fleetguard's Stratapore media) were on the market looong before Amsoil started marketing their EaO filters.
The EaO filters are excellent, but believe me, Ams didn't develop them

I couldn't agree more! My truck is setup similar, 4" exhaust aftermarket intake and and adge tuner. My log trailer is a triple axle 8x20 dump with 4 ft sides that has a 5500 lb dry weight. I've had loads in that thing where my rig grossed out at 16 ton and the truck never broke a sweat. I have a couple buddy's that deliver travel trailers all over the country and they have 4 and 500k on their 7.3's but yeah the 6.0 had some major issues which is why you can buy one for less than a 10 yr older 7.3 around here

I have a friend that just traded his 6.0 before the warranty was up. He said that it has been in and out of the shop since he bought it.

I had a dealer tech tell me he had done over 60k in reapirs on one of the first 6.0 under warranty on a truck that was purchased with a sticker of 38k. Finally ford bought the truck back. I do know that their was a cutoff on the serial #'s when they actually had the bugs worked out and owners of those trucks were very happy. I drove a 6.0 and had to say it was very very impressive, quiet and a ton of power. But just like certain chainsaws, if it don't last I aint a buyin. Besides i'm on a mission to see how long I can make this one last.

The powerstroke motorcraft filters are extra large capacity. I agree bigger is better and the more oil the better. My trucks a 5 speed tranny that holds 3.7 quts but if I park it on a hillside I can get 4 quts in it just to make me sleep better at night. I like your attitude.

The larger Capacity is why I use the Fram also ! As I said have been involved with Diesel for over 30 Yrs and Rotella has never had an adverse effect . I have a few friends who bought the smaller CI Disp. Turbo Diesel and curse them High Revving Diesel Guzzlers with much less Torque . Sure you can Bully Dog em yada yada ! Hey love my Navistar , but the next Diesel will be Cumin's !

But I'm talking in average cars, not Harleys ;)

Just Pullin Your Chain Dude lol !

Multi Grade Esso is fine especially on the Roller Lifters in Colder Weather ! Put a flat spot on one set because I forgot to cover the Oil Cooler late in October running Esso 101 (70 Grade) Avation Oil back on my FXWG in 1984 .

I have always used Rotella in my diesel trucks and tractors until switching to Mobil 1 turbo diesel. It's a lot quieter on cold mornings if nothing else. I have run Mobile 1 in my gas engines since they came out with it, even tractors and lawnmowers. I ran Stihl dyno 2 cycle oil until they came out with HP Ultra and I switched.

With that being said, I have never had an engine failure on anything. Period. Usually just wear out everything else around it.

I think a lot of the complaints about products are more bad judgement in mix ratio or old, maybe alcohol separated gas in saws, forgotten oil changes in equipment and vehicles, etc.

A guy brought a Powerstroke in to the shop next door with 100,000 miles and had never changed the fuel filter. It had literally caved in. Wondered why it quit running. Bad filter I suppose.

YOUR RIGHT WITH THIS ASSUMPTION IN MY BOOKS !
