I think some posts may have got edited as I know for sure that either Mr. or ben said that their equipment ran at a lower temp with amsoil and or synthetics and that is no longer in the thread. I know that I havent lost it. That was discussed.

Stihlatit, unless they modified their posts within a couple of minutes after posting, the post will have an "edited" tag at the bottom of any that've been changed.

If you re read my posts I think you will see I was sceptical of the claims from the begining. In fact the essence of my posts where that the claims of a reduction in temps from switching to synthetics was BS.
BTW I am not calling these guys liars. I am just saying there are many factors that can cause temps to change that are independant of base oil type.

Not me. I always said I run castor. I drive fords so I use Motorcraft oil. I think it is the best, so I really run it in everything.

Treeco I asked someone else the question and Ben picked up the torch. If it's too heavy put it down.

Read more of my posts. You'll see a trend. If someone calls people out I return the favor. I wasn't even going to point out the most evident symptom of running an engine too cool was gas varnishing. In a vehicle the lifters will be hard to pull, but in a two stroke you COULD be talking about varnish building up on the bearings and carb troubles.

I'm here for the builders and you're hear for Ben.

Fred
I don't believe you could run a conventional saw that cool south of the circle.

Well my apologees all the way round gents as I give up looking through this thread. Like a needle in the haystack and if I have offended anyone in any way I apologize for that as that surely was not my intention.
Sincerely
Arnie

Ask some toyota owners about varnish. the oil is also partially to blame for most varnish cases though.
In a two stroke if you run them excessivly rich the internals look really clean. The excess fuel "washes" the piston completly clean and there isnt any buildup in the inside the motor. The exhaust pipes a differant story though.

Ben my apologees to you I have found that it was Chowdozer and Bad E that were refering to a cooler engine as in post #116. I came in at post #134 in the middle of a barrage of posts. I read some of the quotes on you posts that were not in a regular highlighted box as normally they are. It must have been a cut and paste. My confusion in that led to my post of #177. In re reading that whole portion of the thread I truly was in error as you defended synthetics against amsoil. Me being canadian do not even know what amsoil is and understand it to be another synthetic. I was saying that I have had a 41 year period of success with 2 strokes that has excluded amsoil and synthetics. If that makes me a neo ludite I can accept that. It has worked for me and I never argue with success. All my two cycles are still running on quicksilver for 41 years and stihl for about 26 years.
thx

Mr. stop stirring the pot you **** disturber. I apologized to Ben because I was wrong in what I said about him talking about engine cooling when it was someone else. I do not apologize for how I feel about synthetics.

I think it is in bad taste that you wrote your post and try to throw some more fuel on the embers.

In the interest of US-Canadian relations I apologize.;)

Hey Bad e you do not have to apologize we had a debate and you have your position. I have mine. I want you to keep trying synthetics and report back to me in 41 years. That will make me 97 and I can only hope that I am stihl fishing with the same 10 hp Merc. I doubt if I will be running a saw then. LOL.
