My son keeps telling me to buy the 592xp
Long ago i had a 394xp - torque but heavy

Only one thing prevents me from the 592xp = EWS
EWS?
I am notnsure of the advertised weight if the 592 or the 395, but the 592 does feel lighter when picking them up at a dealer. Both or much more saw than I need to pack around at my stage in the game.

Definatly lighter, but I don't think it would oitcut a 395 with long bars.

Stihl user, brother something is majorly wrong with that 400 if your willing to give it up for a 362. They are dogs, heck a 562xp out cuts one stock for stock.
Thinking about it the 362 had its share of issues whe it came out as well. I pick up the 400 most often over my other saws, I got a full fleet to choose from.

Good late Morning,

i SEE you some laughing at Post #210

if you were to do a 3 Phase time cut with a 044/440 against the 400c
a.) 20" bar = very very close - same or 440 wins
b.) 24" bar = 440 wins by more then a second
c.) 28" bar = 440 wins by two seconds or more

Post 226 update

No Softwoods Allowed
3 Tests on 3 Hardwoods

c.) White Ash

Any of you testers ever take weight and vibration into consideration I sure do. The lightest weight to power and least vibes wins with me every time. Just saying.

Now that is a Factor all by itself and a EXCELLENT one at that

at my age = weight and low vibe is the #1 priority

in this Category the 400c wins out hands down

I could see that being true if the 440 had more torque, but it doesn't. Stihl saws from that era with the two transfer ports fed from the cylinder were pigs and the torque sucked. That's why a Husky 372 smoked them back in the day.
