Run always on 40:1...Break it in with 40:1
Depends on the oil. Believe it or not, different oils are... wait for it.... different.Run always on 40:1...
I would not run Ultra at any ratio in a two cycle motor..warranty be damned. Or I suppose you can purchase the oil and then throw it in the trash where it belongs.Depends on the oil. Believe it or not, different oils are... wait for it.... different.
You might run Red Armor at 40:1. But run Stihl Ultra at 50:1.
If he got the warranty extension with Stihl Ultra purchase, run it at 50:1.

Have you tried Lucas 2cycle synthetic blendI would not run Ultra at any ratio in a two cycle motor..warranty be damned. Or I suppose you can purchase the oil and then throw it in the trash where it belongs.
And most FD oils are very similar. Any good oil will allow you to run 32:1-40:1 to one just fine.

Nope and I won't. For starters Lucas alludes to the fact its a certified oil when in reality it's not. That's not reputable. I have also seen photo evidence by reputable people that didn't impress me at all. The Lucas name is associated with snake oil gimmics also. So in conclusion...no thanks.Have you tried Lucas 2cycle synthetic blend
Actually it's pretty good advice when using proper air cooled oils. That's your choice to make. Just like the new saw owner can choose to run whatever oil and ratio they like too.
But your advice of "Run always on 40:1" isn't good advice without additional context.
Magnuson moss act. Run whatever oil you want so long as it meets or exceeds the suggested requirements. Which isn't hard with the stihl ultra.Depends on the oil. Believe it or not, different oils are... wait for it.... different.

I think he is referring to the deal where if you buy a certain quantity of Ultra or some of their canned fuel they extend your warranty.Magnuson moss act. Run whatever oil you want so long as it meets or exceeds the suggested requirements. Which isn't hard with the stihl ultra.
Yeah I did that too, and gave the oil away, I doubt I'd get the second year anyway. Help my logging buddy too often over winter.I think he is referring to the deal where if you buy a certain quantity of Ultra or some of their canned fuel they extend your warranty.
i did some research and found quite a few chainsaw addicts who own a variety of high end saws, including ported saws and they have been using it for years with not a problem.Nope and I won't. What is it you do not like about Stihl Ultra oil mix?

And right, in this country you have the right to run whatever garbage oil you want or the opposite.

yeah, i figured that was it - thanksThere's many thousands of people who run Stihl Ultra at 50:1 without any issues.
Some people just can't control their anger and their arrogance when they talk about 2-stroke oil, and they lose sight of reason, facts, and data.

So you take one persons word and not another persons word? Have you looked up the ratings on Stihl oil V others yet? I heard from lots of guys on here that it runs dirty and dont leave much oil on the crank in fact almost dry.yeah, i figured that was it - thanks
That screen pic had lived its life on ultra @50to1 with e-free high test. Pretty common to see. Switch to about any fd rated oil and it doesn't happen again. So you take one persons word and not another persons word? Have you looked up the ratings on Stihl oil V others yet?
