It's not that the guy didn't derserve it. I certainly not picking on you personally either. Just speaking from expierence, my tougne used to be my worse enemy. I came from a long line of insanely hot Irish temper's. I look back at the old people in the town where I grew up, I bet they still think of the hot headed guy that would go to fist city in a heart beat over the dumbest things. It without a doubt cost me in my corporate job more than once, caused some rough patches in a marriage (thank God she realized I was a work in progress). As an officer in the military it was easy to get away with the occaisional, (ok frequent) tirade.

It has been a long slowww process, I still have my moments and am far from where I want to be, but being a father to three teenagers, I felt like I should be a better example for them than the way I used to go off. No body even questions me when I get up and walk out to the shop or down the drive anymore, they know it's therapy for raging blood pressure.

I think you did the right thing removing the original post, next time go out and take it out on some wood, lol

Can you open carry? That normally will make him sing a different tune.:)lol

Yeah I've always found having Mr. Smith and brother Wesson seem to either
outnumber the "man-to-man" guys or at least give them an attitude adjustment. When they ask: "Why are you carrying that...." I sometimes say,
"Because I can, and I might want to shoot somebody."

Thats just buying and selling, ya get took once in a while but it usually averages out ok.

I've got a permit to carry too but, if you get caught carrying during a confrontation with someone, you won't have a permit anymore.

Useful skills to have in jail.....................

What we have here is...an aftermarket 084 piston here if anyone wants it. The scratches I speak of are not yet much more than "witness marks". If you're game to run an aftermarket piston in your 084, you're willing to help yourself to this one. You only pay the shipping.

Fixed it.

My personal philosophy for buying saws is to look them over for every possible flaw unless the saw is cheap enough to be worth more than what I'm paying in parts.

It's one thing to get a saw that the price is too good to be true, because you pretty much know there's something wrong with it. If somebody is selling a saw for premium price and hiding the defects from you it's a totally different matter altogether.

Right or wrong, if I got hosed like that chances are I'm heading back after dark with camouflage on and the guy is going to wake up with a few slit tires..
(Or at least when I was younger I did #### like that. A few trips to jail and some shameful memories were as good teacher as any to not be that kind of person.)

I've got raped several times, Went and looked at a horse for my wife, I asked if he minded if I rode it, "Naw", she's so gentle you don't need a saddle, looped the lead rope around to the other side of the halter and said have at it. The little mare rode out nice. Bought the horse hauled her home and didn't saddle her up as it was getting dark. Next evening came home from work, changed and went out to ride the horse a little before the wife got on.
Holy ****, it was like you had a flipped a switch, the tranqulizer's had wore off. Hard as hell to saddle, got on her made it about 50 feet before she broke into bucking, rode it out only to have her flip over backwards, breaking my arm and tearing my rotator cuff. Needless to say she went to the killers.

Also dealt with shyster's on several guided hunts, from supposedly reputable outfitter's, I think this is almost common in the outfitting business, because of the business I was in and company I worked for I got to hunt with both the Realtree guys and the Mossy Oak crew, with both Winchester and Remington, it's funny how the celebrity hunters get catered too.
Been around when several hunting vid's were done, it's not always as it looks on TV my friends, but will say Realtree runs and outstanding and ethical operation, primarily a family, christian orientated company, good people.

I just figure on the ying and yang, those that take advantage of other's will get there just reward. They win short term, long term fate will catch them.

This whole thread should be deleted.........

$900 for a used saw and didn't at least pull the muffler? Or look it over real close?

This Craigslist Ebay scam stuff is getting very old.

I read in the back ground for a few years here Sir and one of the things blsnelling always said, check it out pull the muffler. He admits it is his own stupidity and fault. IMHO the seller owes him nothing.

I have also watched Mr. Snelling go from hobby guy to chainsaw business man trying to turn a $$$ in those short 2 years. He has went from friendly helpful person in prior post to a snappy to :newbie:S short tempered judgmental DRAMA QUEEN IMHO too.

At least he balances the drama with some real contributions, as opposed to some members who just follow another member around and take potshots at them.

Of course, I'm just here to take pot shots at spacemule, THALL, and FATGUY...but that's different, right?

This thread is a great reminder, which everyone needs periodically, to have a plan that you stick with whenever you make a substantial purchase, no matter what the product. Maximum price, steps of inspection, receipt, etc.. I commend Brad for pointing out an individual who either unknowingly or deceptively makes a statement that isn't true. It helps everyone who reads this thread learn something, whether a buyer or a seller, and that's what most folks log on to AS for, information. As far as slander, it is still a "he said - he said" situation, no legal grounds there that would amount to anything.

i am NOT trying to start a war here. but i still do not understand why good people on this site are attacked,in their own threads no less. brad is a good man,who contributes alot of knowledge to this site. so what if he vents a little from time to time,we all do. if you dont like what you are reading in a thread, move to the next one. some here need to grow up,and quite acting like 5th graders on the playground. we all have the same interest here in chainsaws. i does not take too many brains to figure out why the good people here always seem to leave. agian, just MY opinion.
