I was in the motorcycle dealer yesterday to get a safety inspection and noticed his new policy signs.
He is now requiring the use of a fuel additive to maintain warranty status on fuel system components. Yes I know he cannot do that and almost laughed in his face.
But the real question is, has anyone heard of or used this product and is it of any value. Since one of the product claims is of special benefits to 2 stroke users and helps with the problems associated with ethanol, Could this be of benefit to us. BTW my bike is a 2 stroke.

Don't know anything about the additive, but it it funny how some guy's make up there own rules when it comes to warranty work!

If it were worth a tinkers' damn, It'd have been tested to death (and have results publsihed), patented (and have that fact prominently noted on the website), and thus have no qualms telling us all what it is rather than what it isn't ("this here stuff AIN'T no keeeroseeen!!"). Yeah, OK...

Ever hear of the provebial ten-foot-Pole? Well, he's a tall sucker and he doesn't use that stuff, either!

That dealer should be reported to the manufacturer he "represents" before he can rip off more people with his bogus warranty "requirements". People like that give all dealers a black eye.
What's next? You have to belong to his church for him to honor the Manufacturer's warranty? He doesn't define or offer the warranty; he just services it (or evades it) according to his dealer agreement.

You wanna know the hell of it? If the mfgr finds out you WERE using that stuff, there's a small chance that they would DENY the warranty claim!!

Tell that numbskull next time you decide you want to put an additive you don't need into your tank, you will take a snake and just squeeze all the oil out of it directly into your tank.

Or better yet...tell him you already have a supplier for that particular additive, then see if he'll still honor your warranty...

We have found that FA is the ONLY additive we use and sell.... IT WORKS......... With todays fuel I do say its a must. Its a shame its not marketed better.

Ray overdosing does no harm to the engine so exact measurement is not needed.
It works as a stabilizer and makes old unburnable fuel burnable.

We use it in all new equipment that leaves here. esp. mowers and tractors.

FA also sells a diesel additive that makes that also works as a deicer and lubricant for the NEW LOW SLUPHER DIESEL

Give it a try...

Msds

A copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet, can tell a lot, but there are no magic pills or potions.

I called this company, they informed me that they do not sell in Colorado, but did offer to send me a copy of there MSDS.

My guess, a chug of Isropolal, a dash of toluene, maybe some acetone, and don't forget , a good snort of petroleum distillate!

Someone closer should also request there data.

Sorry, Scott...I gotta call you on this one!

I'm basing my snake oil post on their marketing. They make highly inflated claims (Fuel Activator cuts down odors and smoke up to 50%), but offer no test results, no proof whatsoever of their claims. (Which is incredibly easy to fake BTW...you can get an "independent lab" to say a ham sandwich improves fuel mileage.)

So my question to you is, how do you know it works? You certainly have a leg up on me, in that you have actually used the product. But have you done any testing to confirm your results? Do you have any control saws you use that don't get FA, versus those which do? Do you test different "grades" of gasoline, meaning old and watery versus fresh out of the pump, in both saws in order to get accurate comparisons? Do both sets of saws get equal amounts of work of the same type (limbing/felling/hardwood/softwood)?

Given your posts, and the very good technical detail they tend to have, I have a lot of respect for your opinions. But the industry these guys play in, fuel additives, is probably the most snake-oil prone industry around.

Actually today is the first Ive seen their website:ices_rofl: I have had lots of success with this product. When I say this I am not talking about odor or smoke. The reason we use this is time savings. Typical customer brings in a piece of equipment that has not been used for numerous weeks or even months and it will not run on the fuel in the tank. The engine will run on prime but not take fuel add some FA let it set a bit them prime again and choke the he!! out of it and it usually comes to life with some more running and a couple adjustments it is usually fixed. No tear down of carb, no soaking in carb washes etc. This product does clean and treat the fuel system. Another example.. A Onan Commercial Emerald Generator came in on a water dept truck (retired fire truck) they asked me to install new points and plugs which I did.. it still would not fire, I added some FA to the fuel tank gave it time to mix and about the time it took to get through the electric fuel pump to the carb it actually started to fire. A few minutes later after giving some time for the FA to loosed the grunge in the carb it then took off and ran like new. This saved hours of repair time, I would have had to remove the generator to even get to the carburetor. Another example a friend of mine picked up a 29 desoto that had been garage kept and not run since the sixties. He tried to get it running one day and it did not want to fire on the OLD fuel. He added a bottle of FA the next day it fired and ran. I can go on and on with stale fuel stories but this product WORKS for my customers and myself.

I do not get paid by fuel activator to promote this.. I do not even really care about whatever ingredients it has I just enjoy the time savings it gives me.

Shouldn't the new piece of equipment run properly on "un-activated" gas? Whether the stuff works or not is irrelevant to holding somebody's warranty hostage for a fuel additive; that's just wrong.

The fuel we buy Today is Ch!t and anything we can do to help it burn better we do. The FA gives a advantage as a stabilizer and a deicer. In Past years I have delivered bran new tractors in the coldest days of winter just to get to the customers place and have a frozen gas line, this helps to prevent that. UNTREATED GAS starts to varnish and become less potent after 3 weeks.
