From the MSDS:

Ingred Name:METHANOL; (METHYL ALCOHOL)
CAS:67-56-1
RTECS #:pC1400000
Fraction by Wt: <5%

Ingred Name:MINERAL SPIRITS
CAS:64742-88-7
Fraction by Wt: >70%

The chemist in me says that the mineral spirits solvates "varnish" residue caused by old gas and the methanol helps solubilize any water that may be in the lines. Seems reasonable.

And 25% stuff that dose not do a dang thing, to people or the engine/fuel system!

It is some VERY high priced paint-thinner*.

How dose this stuff work for cleaning paint brushes?

*Paint thinner is flamable, not via there claims.

I am not sure but I think I remember the FA from the 70s and guys then seemed to like it. Back then I used to buy 104 octane Sunoco at the pump and I never kept fuel around too long becuase it wasn't expensive to replace it
(correction 120 octane at the sunoco custom blend pump)
Scott do you put a few drops in the equipment's tank?
Or do you mix a little in your shop gas cans?

What does it smell/feel like?

The puzzling part for me on the website is the non-flammable non-toxic aspect

An MSDS would tell alot and I just wonder why tehy do not post a link for their MSDS

I'll try anything because we are in the same horrid fuel supplier zone

I have never been a fuel stablizer user because I have seen what happens after the stabilized fuel goes beyond it's lifespan.....it makes a hard varnishy green coated mess of carburetors.

I do not recommend any liquid stand alone stabilzer no matter what the brand

I have had to tell too many people that their carbs need complete cleaning or in some instances that their chainsaw or large brush cutter scored a piston due to stale fuel and have them yell @ ME that they use sta-bil and that isn't supposed to happen

No ODOR to it, as far as feel A bit oily. Now say what you guys will I will keep continuing to use this because it WORKS

 Methanol and mineral spirits non-toxic and non-flamable?

Okay, now I'm confused. Did I miss something?

That is consistent with the MSDS's appearance description. Unless they've recently and radically reformulated (the last review on this MSDS was 1995), I'm amazed that they claim it being non-toxic and non-flammable.

NON FLAMMABLE but combustible.. I just poured a bit on my work bench and it would not ignite or flash using a butane torch.
Odor if you stick the bottle right at your nose you notice a different smell kinda like thinner or diesel but not exactly. but not noticeable odor unless right at your nose.

if you had a container of OLD and nasty smelling gas and added this FA to it it will neutralize the foul odor.

The ingredients are interesting, mineral spirits and methyl alcohol. Isn't methyl alcohol also called wood alcohol? The other 25% probably includes the dying agent that makes it red. My poison ivy soap has "odorless" mineral spirits in the ingredients. You can just barely smell it.

Cuttinscott, stop huffing the fuel activator, it is making you goofy.:yoyo:

Thats cool that this fuel activator works good for you. I just can't relate cause I never have a problem.

Maybe I do get better gas than the rest of you. For the past 3 or 4 years 10% ethanol has been what I have run in everything. And vehicals I have have been running it scince we could get it. The only problems I have with switching the old stuff over to it is one vehical that is cleaned the junk out of the tank till it plugged the fuel filter and a leaky bowl gasket on a tractor that last had the carb rebuilt back in the early 90's.

On my blazer it ran better with a fresh tank of fuel and a can of seafoam in it but it ran fairly well on the old gas for setting that long. I had more problems with rotten vaccume lines than anything.
