Used GRCS for first time today. Just used it to pull over sugar maple tree (3 feet dia). Even though it was relatively simple procedure, got to know the device.

Totally worth every cent. So easy. Plan to use it whenever possible.

Thanks for the advice JPS and the lower price.

I believe the GRCS, like all good equipment, will pay for itself over and over in time saved alone, and the improvement in moral that using good equipment adds is invaluable. Then of course there is the safety that good equipment and the GRCS in particular adds to one's bag of tricks... Having that unit affords the creative arborist many more options in any technical rigging situation and saves a lot of energy, which could save a life here and there.. I've only seen it used once and that was enough to convince me to get one... though that was last year and I still have yet to write the check... I think anyone with an established business would appreciate the GRCS's value after seeing what it can do.... You need to see something like that perform to really understand the value... Some pics in a catalog just don't work. I'll get around to getting one soon, and I have a few other things to buy first...
With a piece like the GRCS, I wonder if co-ownership would be desireable... Three or four small companies speding 600-800 ea. would be an easier pill to swallow. I wouldn't need it more than a week in any month, though I suppose it would be inevitable that all of us would get busy at the same time.... and there are a few other concerns with sharing equipmemt too.
In the mean time I Am hoping to get a good deal on a new or nearly new all wheel drive F-350 dump truck or its equivalent... I believe there is excess supply right now and a deal is to be had... Any suggestions are appreciated. If I can get a pair cheap would anyone be interested in taking one???

It realy does not take much more time to mount then a porty. A strong guy can do it solo.

Once you start rigging with low friction, you will set it up just on any tree rigging is needed that would strain the rope handler.
