seen as all the teens are checking in iam another teenager that works and uses saws (17) current project - 084 :)

Looks like the build is going well. You know what they say its not the restoration it the sourcing of the parts. You must be able to get the welsch plugs for them carbs I am pretty sure its easily fixable.

And you can make/save money with them in the way they are operated. You can with girls to but that is illegal in most states and not the kind you would want to bring home to mama:D

Looks good. I've had a 330 that is my dad's that I've been wanting to get into for awhile now. It's in pretty good shape and runs. Just thought about a total resto so I could put it up.

I am starting to catch up i have finished with most all of my parts except some of the little parts and screws. Good news would be that we finally got the clutch off of the crankshaft. We did this so that we could split the crank case and it looks as if there was a lot of water damage at some point in this little Homelites life. Notice in these pictures that there is a lot of white crapola inside the crank case.

We did however figure out that briantutt's 330 is a thick ring version, and mine is a thin ring version. We will be able to test and see if as some people say that thin ring is better if that is truly the case.

:sword: Thick vs. Thin :sword:

Ever have to use a 1/2" drive breaker bar to remove a plug yet? :D

I did, once. I have no idea how that plug could be that hard to remove... there was no rust or anything on the threads. I guess someone must've used an impact wrench on it. (it was on my Maxima, changed the plugs shortly after we got it)

As you can see in the first picture i am applying what is called motoseal 1. Then after that we worked on getting the boots, oil lines, and pulse lines on the chainsaws. One question that came up was as we were working we saw that inside one of the pulse lines to the oil pump had a spring inside the line. The replacement lines sent to us were Tigon and they didnt contain springs. the question is what is that spring in there for? And if possible how would u get it in the line? :help:We ended up reusing the lines because we figured it had to be in there for a reason and couldnt be that bad.

Its a vent line, and that holds it open while stopping an astonishing amount of crap from going through. Often the spring can be turned one way to tighten or narrow it, and then sometimes be removed or inserted. I've used "strings" of lawn mower airfilter foam as a filter on a vent line before, cut a narrow strip and use a wire to stick it in the line.
