This is a picture of something subtle that you might not have been able to see (unless your a GENIUS):hmm3grin2orange: HA. Its a picture of how the top handles are at an angle that fits the saw but we mixed them up on accident (briantutt did) hehe. Notice the angle of the casting how one leans forward and one leans back.

Hey! I remember that green saw in that background.

It's alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we are very happy men because THEY RUN!!! :hmm3grin2orange: Well obviously when briantutt tapped the carb lever srew it worked because his ran and is tuned but not fully tuned, yet. And i didnt screw up my carb so mine worked, but ran out of gas. We will post videos of briantutt and I cutting some wood with our 330's in a couple days.

Here is mine:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7K71840_IMs?hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7K71840_IMs?hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Here is briantutt's:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3ZmF7RS75s4?hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3ZmF7RS75s4?hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Well in the video i am running my first chainsaw that i rebuilt. It all looks like it is going good, it cuts nice and i actually really like the protective helmet that i had on. i liked cutting with my chainsaw and it was really fun!! And in the second video i am running my dad briantutt's chainsaw and in the middle of my third cut I ran out of gas!

Good deal!!! It is a great feeling for me to bring back something most folks would call junk. You should be proud!!!

Good job Isiah, its all about running what you've worked on, and that feeling you get while doing it.

Hey looks like you guys did a nice job! I just started rebuilding my own homelite 330. I have it all taken apart and cleaned out and am in the process of ordering parts. Whoever had it last burnt up the piston so I need to get a new piston and rings. Do you know of anywhere I could find some? Thanks

I got a lot of the parts from Kyle at Edge and Engine, Welcome to Cassadaga Edge & Engine

You can also get some parts from going to Homelite :: Home and then go to the parts ordering area and search on the model number of the 330 you have starts with UT. Leave the UT off the number and any dashes and you should find the IPL and prices for parts they still have.

Ebay is the last resort but piston rings are on there

Cool thanks! When you put the engine back together, did you put some sort of seal between the crankcase and the cylinder? I was thinking some sort of rubber seal maker but I don't. The part diagrams that I am looking at don't show any gasket there.

Nope, no gasket. Get yourself some Permatex Motoseal 1. It was meant for this sort of thing. ModifiedMark told me about it. You can get it from Napa or any autoparts place.
