I figured a good b&c would be worth $20.00. If I get 'em, I'll send the 1616 to anyone who can use it.

That 1616 almost looks like a relative of the homelite 150.

Adds like that is the reason I have as many saws as I do. Good luck showing restraint.

The little Frontier-made Skil is a totaly different saw than a Homelite 150.....and is much easier to work on. It's a shade over 30cc (about 10 less than the 150), and has the carb up top/in front like a Poulan Micro. I have a Skill 944 Type-1 that's almost identical to that 1616.

I'd have absolutely no restriant whatsoever if that ad was local to me. The C72 is worth the money whether it's a runner or a parts saw. The Skil is a good little lightweight beater/loaner/giveaway saw.

This crank has a New Departure 3203AK ball bearing with snap ring groove. At first blush it feels worn out with a bit of play but after thinking about it I wonder if maybe it is supposed to have extra ball/race clearance for the high rpm of a saw engine? Ball count seems low (8) also.

I tried Google but search results made no sense.

I don't have access to a bearing interchange manual anymore.

I am not having any luck crossing that number either. If I get a chance I will tear into one of my spare saws and see if they have a different number.

Rough dimensions are .656" bore x 1.575" o.d. x .348" wide.

It don't fall in to any standard 100 or 200 series for size so is likely a special.:( You got an IPL? What is the Homelite number. (for searching evilbay).

I gave into my CAD; don't tell my wife ;). I started a thread with photos in the main chainsaw forum, figured they would get overlooked by the folks who don't follow this thread (I plead guilty).

If I get the Skilsaw 1616 running I might change my mind. It's very light, and as Eccentric mentioned it looks pretty straighforward to repair.

BTW, does anyone here have a C-72 IPL &/or SM they're willing to share? TIA!

Let me do some checking around...

Congratulations! You did good. I have the IPL and shop manual for the C-72 on my computer at home. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll 'em to you tomorrow morning. I don't have any literature for the Skil. It should have a tillotson HU carb, and take an RK-14HU kit....available everywhere. The C-72 will take an RK-88HL kit and uses 3/16"ID automotive fuel line from the tank fitting to the carb. 3/16" ID Tygon type line works fine inside the tank.

Super 1050...continued

I've run into a new question/issue with the Super 1050.

Looking inside the oil pump, I see a gear which looks like it is supposed to be turned by a crank mounted gear which is missing along with the entire clutch assembly and drive cover.
I haven't had much luck finding these parts.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Phillip

Possible trade in the works for a xl-700 will keep you guys posted.

A very possible trade. Did I tell you I got it to fire? BTW, I have a Homelite here that I need help IDing. Roncoinc thinks that it's a 450, I thought it seemed like a bigger saw than that, the saw is very large. Here are the pics, I hope that they will be a help. The numbers on it are lot# F7215 and UT# 101354. Thanks in advance guys.

I'm thinking it's a 450 as well Jim. What do you plan to do with it? We have a 4.5 Craftsman that's a strong runner.

Not sure yet Randy, it is missing quite bit on it so it might end up going on the shelf as a future project. I'll just start looking for parts for it as I go.

That Craftsman 4.5/Homelite 450 certainly has the size & weight of a larger cube saw.
