Here's a few photos of Randy's Craftsman 4.5 / Homelite 450, I'll check my computer for more detailed images. If you narrow it down to a 450 or 550, the 450 doesn't have a high speed carb jet.

Thanks Chris. I think you guys are right now that I can see it closer. The oiler is the same, the front handle mount is the same and so on. Thank you.

Just box up all the homelites and send them here...save you tons of trouble.:hmm3grin2orange:

That era of Homelites doesnt really trip my trigger...but a 750 would.

A 2100 or 1050 would probably be more in line with my collection age wise.

I do have a 240 and its not a bad saw..just too much flimsy plastic for my taste

I must admit that if I had to carry a Homelite as heavy as the 450 into the woods on a regular basis, I'd want a model where the cubes came closer to justifying the weight.

That said, there's definately something cool about Made In The USA magnesium chainsaws.

The 750 is at my place now. It's dirty, and definitely a 'veteran' with much of the paint gone. It's honest wear, and doesn't look abused however. Compression 'feels' good, and nothing appears broken. I'll shoot some pics, clean it up, and dig into it after the PNW GTG. Too busy right now...

That's very easy to find out with a degree wheel. You just need to remove the muffler and carb.

Made a certain XL-700 go vroom tonight. Needs some work though, might be a member here happy to hear that.

u think ur smart doncha

No, I just know a small enough portion of my multiplication tables to look good on occasion. On the serious side, I have to go through that one pretty good before I send it your way. There will be video, if I can figure out posting one that is. I need to get a bar and chain on it as well.

I knew you lived in the hillbilly part of New York and all.

Is it in that bad of shape? See if you can get me a good picture of it.

It's not terrible, the worst problem being the braken rear handle. I'll head out and take a pic or two for you.
