Got the XL-101 running.

Finally changed to a different SDC to get it running after a fashion. Mix oil buildup under the flywheel and behind the clutch tell me the seals are shot. Returns to idle slowly and just dies.

We bought it for parts anyway.

Will the plain alum. front handle from an XL-12 fit an XL-101?

That has to be the yukky-est shade of blue green ever. Maybe I can scrape that plastic off.

Sweet... I think you and I are the only ones around here that like that saw...

We need pictures though...

Pictures will have to wait until wifey isn't around. She thinks I just got a small box of parts the other day.:msp_sneaky: Maybe monday.

The flywheel on this model is shrouded by the fuel tank. Shades of early Roper. You just can't wack it with a ball peen for removal.

I think I want a XL-103 or 104 (ish) to go with this one as it is 1 1/2# lighter than an XL-12.

You need two of everything.

My first saw was a small homelite Super-Mini from the mid-late 60s (I think? - no chain brake). It was a great little saw.

I gave it away to a mate when I moved overseas. I miss that little saw...

Does anyone have any specs/details on the Super Mini? (not the "S").

Did you get a 101 or a 12? The 101 is very light even by todays mostly plastic standards. I really think this saw is very under apprecaited myself.

If you take out the screws on the flywheel that the pawls are on you can use a #12 screw with a puller to pull it off.

I will wait until Monday for pics...dont want a fellow Homelite junkie getting into trouble you know.

I am looking for a service manual for an XL Automatic. An XL 12 Manual will do. Any help will be appreciated.

Seems as though the chain oiler has decided to quit working, I have cleaned out all the lines, still wont pump oil

Same muffler thats on mine...better get some earplugs out..they are loud.

Speaking of mufflers...I'm building an XL12 frankensaw for a friend from a bunch of old XL12 saws he gave me. Piston is 46mm so I believe that makes it a super XL. Problem is, neither the super XL nor the XL muffler fits - bolt holes are 2-1/16" apart C to C.
Anyone know what muffler might fit this? Everything else (from an XL 12) bolted right together. :dizzy:

Hey Aaron!!!!

I brought that XL15 down with me. I can either bring it to Laytonville or if doesn't happen, we can hit Leggett again.

Thanks Randy! Sounds like a good plan either way. Chu gotta stuffer and oil tank for your 790? Has a broken starter pawl spring too (one of two is good). Don't know if we can change that without changing clutch hubs. Gotta study the SM and get back to you.

Then there's your 2100S Homelite. Do you need carb needles for it? I think I remember you mentioning that they were missing from the carb you got with the 2100S.

I'm thinking of ditching the 2100's current carb and finding the proper one.
I do have a good oil tank, manual oil, will be fine. I'll check for a spring.
That XL15 looks pretty good, you want pics? Silly question?

I will try and measure up both of mine and see what they are.
