oh yeah sorry, had to take the manifold off to get the adjustment screws to clear and throttle linkage off

oh neat, I gotcha, how come they don't do em like that anymore, is it less efficient or less powerful?

Also, this thing is actually pretty stinkin clean inside, should i still get a carb kit or just slap it back tohether and roll with it?

Piston port engines run better at higher RPM's than reed valve engines (for the most part....................dirt bike and snowmobile engines went from PP to reed in the early '70s, and are still reed valvers). I think much of it is a packaging and manufacturing cost thing. Less parts...

I'd suggest at least a diaphragm/gasket kit (DG-5HL), if not a full carb kit. Been my experience that good looking OLD diaphragms tend to die not long after being put back into service with modern gas...

I'd be interested in everything that's left over from that C-9 after you're done taking what you need/want. I'd especially be interested in the carb, intake manifold, reed block, and carb box/rear handle assembly.

Still have my XL-700 that I want to get parts for (it runs).

Oiler feels gritty when stroking.

Need sprocket.

Need bar.

Need chain.

Need air filter.

Thank you!

If anyone knows where I can get ahold of the decals for this I'd sure appreciate it, I tried to get ahold of Joe Salva but wasn't able to reach him

Nice job. What blue are you using? Keep trying to get Joe. It takes a while. Check Chainsawr World's largest inventory of Chainsaw Parts (a site sponsor with a banner ad up top) for the decals. Scott carries many of Joe's decals.

Bryce (customchainsawparts or cheapchainsawparts..............formerly cheapstihlparts on feebay) sells some of Joe's stuff (including decals) too.

I already checked cheap chainsawparts on ebay for him. Nothing there for a C-52.

I sure would like to find a better flywheel for my Super 1050....

One of the starter pawls holes is stripped. Yes I could probably use a heil coil or time-set but I am not sure how it will hold up on a flywheel with all the pressure and vibrations.

^^^ I've never thought of cutting the tree down with the saw, then taking the side cover off and using the flywheel as a stump grinder ^^^ :msp_thumbup:

I think he meant to type time-sert, a competitor to heli-coil.

I used a time-sert on a ford triton engine spark plug once, very slick kit.

Just did a quick search on Scott's site (chainsawr). Didn't find a set for the C-52. Did find one for a C-5. It's possible that he has the C-52 set, but hasn't listed it yet. I suggest contacting Scott...

Chainsawr Homelite C5 Decal Set

Thanks guys, I'll try to get ahold of him

the blue I'm using is Dupli Color Light Blue Metallic, Original GM Color
