Have seen another saw with a fitting and line down through the case. IPL shows a line from the CARB into the lower case.

OH yeah I have been working on a bunch of these lately. With this setup, the carb has no idle screw that opens the throttle. Instead the idle is achieved by dumping air into the crank case. Not sure how but somehow the carb still feeds gas as well, I guess because it is still getting pulses. The fitting on the manifold is just for the idle screw. There is no connection to the mixture coming from the carb. There must be some sort of check valve where the air enters the crank case to prevent backflow. Maybe "crank" ported, as opposed to piston ported. Often the carb is swapped out for a HL with a set screw, and the crankcase inlet is blocked off. I know with the extra idle circuit, it is much harder to take it apart and work on it.

I can see that you have the idle screw on the carb, so the other idle circuit is inactive.

Hey Wolf, I see you are from Killeen. Spent some time down there a few years back. Nice saw, BTW!!!! Like the full wrap handle bar.

Been here since 1994. Graduated from the Army on '96 and except for 30 months, have been here since.

Want to get the 1130G running. Bought it last fall. Got to see it in March, when I was on R and R. Not able to get it running. Going to try and have it working early this fall.

RK-88HL for full kit (with diaphragms/gaskets, nedle/seat, metering lever, and welch plugs). DG-5HL for diaphragm/gasket-only kit.

thanks Aaron--same as my hl63--are you going to be in cazadero for the get together this coming sunday? as i will be there (one of the old guy's)

Anyone here buy the sweet 1130G that ended a bit ago on ebay.
$339.00 for a saw with 60 psi compression.
Makes me wonder what a nice runner is worth.

I didn't think the GTG in Caz was going to happen....................or did I miss something??? Guess I better hollar at Norm soon. If it's a go, I'll be there. Off to work now.....

I saw that listing too Lee. Thought it was nuts when it was going for $175 or so. It did LOOK like it was in nice shape. A P/C would probably get it back in business. That's some $$$ to throw at a $339+shipping saw however. Ebay has been NUTS as far as saw prices is concerned. Even more crazy than usual.....

The downside of it is when you put a really nice runner on there expecting a good price and getting $25 or $30 for it.

Picked up another 1050 super automatic today, the saw has done little work and will only need a carb kit, sidecover has a hole in it, looks like the clutch has come loose. Here's a couple of picks of it being introduced to some of my other Homies.
My almost 2yr old son loves saws almost almost as much as me, here he is trying to start his XL1 the one he calls "blue".
Cheers
Justin

In Homelite-speak, 'E' refers to a flush-cut handlebar configuration.

As far as I know, none of the C-series derivatives have had anything other than points ignitions.

Chris B.

So the last of the 1050 and 1130G saws built in the mid-80s with the SDC carbs still were points saws? Facinating.....

This is why I'm not a guru.

Me neither. I know just enough to get myself in trouble. Hey Jeff...............Didja get my PM yesterday morning telling you that you had a package in the mail? Some of my PM's haven't been arriving, and I've failed to receive a few sent to me lately. Been happening off and on over the last few weeks....:bang:

Geardrives

These two showed up today - a couple of 990G geardrives. One saw is complete, and should not take alot of work to make a runner again. The other one is in a semi disassembled state, but is basically all there except for its full wrap handle. The dismantled machine has not done a heap of work, but appears to have been dropped (the handle bar and support brace were cracked) at some point in its life. All of the casings and other parts are all in nice shape, so I hope to use some spares that I have to get it together again.
The previous owner of the dismantled unit was kind enough to throw in a NOS handle brace as a bonus.

Here are some pics of the big saws.

Chris.
