The only other pics I have are closeups of the air filer cover. Here they are, let me know what you think.

Release your anger my friend.

I knew if someone mentioned JD Aaron would have to chime in so he gets that beautiful IH thing in here.

Actually, I was in a building with sketchy reception last night. Before I posted, my phone hadn't updated my view of this thread with any of the posts after A.Palmer's. Your post (with the Remington answer) and gomlin's second post with the big pics weren't there. It updated after my post went through, but my connection dropped out again and I couldn't edit/delete my redundtant answer. When I left that building for the night I saw your subsequent request for a larger pic of the mighty Tractor Man....:D

I'm a big fan of the IH but I only have three of them...

Maybe if you're into old saws and want one to collect. These old, heavy saws aren't much good except to run for fun and collect, I have three or four oldies.

Edit:

I'm slipping. Thought you were still talking about SXL-AO type saws. I have to agree about the EZ-6. I have one that will be put back together eventually. It's waiting in line....

The old tank on the 925 is off and in the trash as it was broken. The gobs of black goo ended up being 2 fuel filters and a fuel cap retainer, of course that does not include the fuel filter I put in it or the retainer that was on the fuel cap. I put the tank and gasket from the 98A on it and will test for leaks tomorrow. The handle of the 98A will also go on and I will cap the manual oilier, I will also swap intake manifolds and the muffler of the 98A is in better shape and the pull starter is as well. If the tank does not leak I should have it up and running by next weekend. I have a very minty Homelite 24 inch bar that will go on it but right now it is on a Poulan 8500 that is going wood cutting in the morning.

XL-800 dying in the cut.

Yup, you have heard that before. And, here is another one.

Starts and runs fine when cold but after the first or second long cut and start another it falls on its' face. Craps out at operating temperature it seems.

Powerhead completely rebuilt. New rings, seals, bearing on flywheel side. Compression is "O.M.G. we need a 'D' handle". Conventional Wico magneto. Filed, honed and polished the points. Checked them again for gap or oil on contact surfaces. Carb. has been gone thru twice. Raised the metering lever half a tad the last time. New fuel line with the large filter. Tried it with a full fuel tank and down to a 1/4 tank. Changed the plug from a used RCJ7Y to a new CJ6. Tried the H jet 1/4 turn richer and 1/4 turn leaner from best WOT 'four stroking'. Fuel lid has new duckbill & filter. New wire core plug wire

I think it has an ignition problem but what? Coil? Condenser?

Try a different kill switch next.

The guy that took that picture is such a nice guy he posted it here in the old iron thread. The least a poster could do is say who took the photo if they steal it to post it somewhere else.

Easy Jeffus. Since I was posting your own pic in response to your continued irrational rants about all things IHC.........................I figured you'd have something cheeky to say about it. Was "putting one right accross the plate" for you. A gift or freebie as it were. Instead you just got all Mr Grumpus on me....:msp_unsure:

pretty saws but I never owned one until now. Traded my buddy an old 22 for his uncles c-7 currently only 70 psi but going to re-ring soon. I'll post pics as the saw build progresses. I bought a few old small XL's for the gang in our hunting camps, seems the saws are the first thing to go when Northwood locals come to visit when we're not home
